We start a new year with the highestexpectations for the Riviera Maya,which is proudly standing on its ownand ready to keep receiving visitorsfrom all parts of the world. Thisparadise has its doors wide open

to the New Year with a sense ofrenovation as well as excellent

options for tourist to keep finding the peaceand harmony that come naturally after hoursof gazing into the Caribbean ocean and itsmyriads tones of blue.

The Riviera Maya Tourism Board has pulledtogether all its resources in a successful effortto realize promotion campaigns that inviteeven more people to get to know and, ofcourse, fall in love with the immense naturalbeauty this land offers.

Amongst the various campaigns the TourismBoard put into effect on 2005, the FunjetVacations project gathered a group of travelagents, considered the best among theirindustry in the United States, and took themon a live virtual journey via internet to see forthemselves the situation our destination wasliving. This was the first time in history thatan event such as this was done.

Videos and live interaction to inform theseagents in an easy, fast and fun manner werealso included. Fifteen properties from Funjetand different points in the Riviera Maya werefilmed and edited into segments that werepart of the project. The travel agents couldhave all their questions about the conditionof the properties and actual situation in thedestiny answered by local experts in a simul-taneous live chat room. The transmissionstook place twice a day live from Xcaret Park,with a total of eight 45 minute feeds.

Therefore, it was successfully demonstratedthat the Riviera Maya is operating withnormalcy and is in prime conditions towelcome tourism. The magic of this place isin rapid growth, and this was the impressionthese agents perceived and took back home,because here paradise is forever.

Comenzamos un nuevo año con lasmejores expectativas para la RivieraMaya, la cual se encuentra de pie ylista para seguir recibiendo visi-tantes de todas partes del mundo.Éste paraíso tiene las puertasabiertas al 2006 con renovación yexcelentes opciones para que el tu-rismo siga encontrando la tranquilidad yarmonía que da el poder observar por horaslas tonalidades del color del mar Caribe.

El Fideicomiso de Promoción Turística de laRiviera Maya ha centrado todos sus esfuerzosen realizar campañas de promoción para invi-tar a que cada vez más gente conozca y seenamore de la inmensa belleza natural queofrece esta tierra.

Dentro de las labores realizadas por elFideicomiso durante el 2005, se encuentra elproyecto Funjet Vacations, el cual consistióen llevar a los que son considerados como losmejores agentes de viajes en Estados Unidos,dentro de un viaje virtual por primera vez envivo y en la historia, vía Internet; paramostrarles la situación en la que se encuentranuestro destino.

Además se incluyeron videos e interacción envivo ayudando a las personas a estar mejorinformadas de una manera fácil, rápida ydivertida. Este proyecto incluyó cápsulas fil-madas en 15 propiedades seleccionadas porFunjet y diferentes atractivos de la RivieraMaya. Así mismo, los agentes pudieron pre-guntar simultáneamente por medio de unforo virtual acerca de las condiciones de laspropiedades y de la situación del destino a losexpertos de la zona. Las emisiones se trasmi-tieron dos veces al día desde las instalacionesdel Parque Xcaret, con un total de 8 transmi-siones de 45 minutos cada una.

De esta manera, se demostró que la RivieraMaya se encuentra operando con normalidady está en óptimas condiciones para recibir alturismo. La magia de este sitio es algo que vaen rápido crecimiento y ésta es la impresiónque cada uno de estos visitantes se llevó paratrasmitir en sus países, pues aquí el paraíso síes para siempre.
