When Tomorrow Starts Without Me When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s gate, I felt so much at home When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne. He said, “This is eternity and all I’ve promised you.” Today my life on earth is past, but here it starts anew I promise no tomorrow but today will always last And since each day’s the same day, there’s no longing for the past. So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time, you think of me, I’m right there in your heart. • When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see,

If the sun should rise and find your eyes,

    filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,

while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,

and each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand

That an angel came and called my name

and took me by the hand

The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above

And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gate,

I felt so much at home

When God looked down and smiled at me

    from His great golden throne.

He said, “This is eternity and all I’ve promised you.”

Today my life on earth is past,

    but here it starts anew

I promise no tomorrow but today will always last

And since each day’s the same day,

there’s no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me,

    don’t think we’re far apart,

For every time, you think of me,

I’m right there in your heart.

    Acknowledgement

We, the family of Mr. Monroe Scott, wish to thank each of you

for the many loving and wonderful acts of kindness rendered

during the passing of our loved one. May God bless each of

you with His grace and mercy, we pray.

  • Life Reflections of Mr. Monroe Scott

Mr. Monroe Scott, son of Rosa Scott King, was born in

Calhoun County, South Carolina on May 3, 1936. He

departed this life on Monday, July 27, 2020.

He attended the public schools of Richland County School

District One. In later years, he enlisted in the United

States Army and served from 1950-1957. He served in

the Korean War, and was honorably discharges with the

    rank of PFC.

After service, he was employed by the Columbia Hospital,

(later Richland Memorial Hospital and today Prisma

Health Richland). He retired after forty (40) years of

exemplary service. While employed at the Columbia

Hospital, he met and married Geneva Felder on May 31,

1968. This union was blessed with one son, Anthony.

They were marred for thirty-seven (37) years, before his

beloved wife, Geneva, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the American Legion Veteran of

Foreign War (VFW), Disabled American Veterans

(DAV), USO, St. Jude, and Arbor Day.

Monroe had a passion for gardening, grilling, and a love

for his neighbors and circle of friends. He was so

generous and giving; he loved to tease and see family and

    friends smile.

Mr. Monroe Scott leaves to cherish his precious memory:

his loving son, Anthony (Danielle) Scott; two aunts,

Carrie Scott Milling (who was like a sister, and he

referred to as Bloss) and Carrie K. Scott; two family

friends, who looked up to him as a brother, Judge Cathy

Badgett, of Ridgeland, SC and Jeanie Brown, of Austin,

TX; and a host of other loving family and dear friends, all

of whom will miss him dearly.
