the brand equity of India’s leading select B-Schools) November – December 2014.

� Prof. H. F. Kayumi has successfully completed his Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. D. B.

More in July 2014.

� Prof. M.N. Sayyed’s book “IT in Management” has been published by Thakur

Publication for Savitribai Phule Pune Univesity. Book ISBN No. is ISBN:978-93-5163-

141-5.

� Prof. Manoj Kulkarni is selected on ‘Ahmednagar District Grahak Parishad’ from the

teachers’ category for three years from September 2014.

• Orientation for MBA

Orientation programme for MBA –I students was conducted on 1st August 2014. Dr. M.B.

Mehta, Director, IMS, gave welcome address. He briefed about the B.P.H.E. Society and the

Institute. Dr. S.B. Kolte, Director General, IMS, discussed about Corporate expectations from

MBA students. Dr. Meera Kulkarni, HOD, Mgt. Program gave the details of MBA course

conduct. The faculty members introduced themselves to students. The objective of the

activity was to break the ice and make the freshers familiar with all the faculties in an

informal way. After introduction, Prof. P.A. Laxmanayya – Head, Placement cell, explained

the career opportunities for MBA’s. Then all the students visited the Learning Resource

Centre for the orientation of facilities provided for the students.

• Workshop on “Business plan and Project Report Preparation”

A full day workshop on “Business plan and Project Report Preparation” was organized on

19th

August 2014 for MBA II students. Mr. Vinod Paratkar, Business Development Advisory

from Pune conducted the workshop. He discussed about Business plan, Business module and

Project Report by giving live examples of his projects in various countries. The academic

toppers of MBA I and MBA II were felicitated by the guest on the occasion.

• Sensitivity Training / T group training / Human Process Laboratory: A tool for

Organizational Development.

The sensitivity training was organized for MBA II HR special students on 2nd

September

2014. 9 students & placement coordinator participated in the programme. The group worked

to see group movement & development. They experimented with their behavior and the

impact of their behavior on others. Since it was a cousins lab, care to the activity had to be

emphasized. Expression of emotion & literacy in this was done. Affection / relational/

inclusion, power, achievement/growth were better understood in the process. To speak up to

clarity and remove misunderstandings happened incidentally.

• Management Games

Management games were held on 12th

& 13th

Sept. 2014. The event was named as

KRANTI-2014. The objective of the Management games is to provide platform for the

students to showcase their talent. Students participated in various competitions like

sponsorship, brand wagon, Ad-Mad show, Mock show, Team building and Best Manager.

There was a tie in overall championship teams Veer Sawarkar & Bose Fighters won the

overall championship. Mr. Prem Kulsreshtha of MBA –I (A) won Best Manager contest.

• A full day workshop on Personality and Self Development

A full day workshop on Personality and Self Development was organized on 6th

October

2014. Mr. S.G. Apte, Director, Gapset Consultancy, Pune was invited to conduct the

workshop. He discussed various personality traits and managerial & leadership qualities

with the help of different activities and small games. It was a very interactive session and

students also actively participated in all the activities and games.

• Inter-College Competition: Aagneyum - 2015

The Management Department (MBA Programme) of the Institute organized an Inter-

College Competition for undergraduate students on Thursday, 12th

February 2015. The

competition was named as ‘Aagneyum’ having a punch line – Ignite the Excellence in

You. Eight competitions namely Quiz, Mock Press, Face Painting, Collage, Extempore,

Ad Mad Show, Antakshari and Group Dance were conducted in the event. The students

studying at undergraduate level in Arts, Science, Commerce, Pharmacy and Engineering in

reputed colleges in Ahmednagar and neighboring districts participated in the event. 40

Teams and 550 students participated in the event and showcased their talent. The guests

for the inaugural programme were – Mr. Arvind Pargaonkar, General Manager, L&T Ltd.,

Ahmednagar and Mr. Anil Meher, Dealer, Total Lubricants (I) Pvt. Ltd., Ahmednagar. The

guests for the prize distribution were – Mr. Rajesh Pewal, Head-HR, Eaton, Ahmednagar

and Mr. Gautam, Head – Quality Assurance, Crompton Greaves Ltd., Ahmednagar. The

award winners of all the competitions were given certificates, mementos and cash prizes.

Runner-up of each competition were given cash prize of Rs. 1000/- and Winners of each

competition were give a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-. Ahmednagar College students emerged

as the Overall Champion. The Overall Champion was given a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-.

• Students participation in 3 days Property Expo

Ten students of MBA – 1st and 2

nd year participated in the Property Expo organized by

Dainik Divya Marathi. Students co-ordinated the stall of M/s Jagtap Builders and

Promoters for 3 days on 27, 28th

Feb. and 1st March 2015. In the stall students interacted

with the visiting customers, handled their enquiries and filled up information forms. It was

good learning opportunity for the Management students.

One day Seminar was organized for MBA students on 24th

• A parent teacher meet

A parent teacher meet was organized on Friday 10th

October 2014. 65 parents of first year

MBA students were present. Parents were quite satisfied with the efforts made by the Institute

in developing student’s overall personality.

1. Prof. Ms. R.U. Tandulwadkar attended a two day workshop on “Innovation and

Creativity for Business” on 28th

education” as a panel member & won second prize in sharing Best Practice, conducted by

Institute of Industrial &Computer Management & Research; 14 & 15 November 2014.

4. Dr. A.R. Mancharkar published a research paper titled “Problems and Prospects of Small

Scale Agro-Processing Industry in Ahmednagar District” in a Research Journal –

5. Prof. Dr. Meera Kulkarni and Prof. Rucha Tandulwadkar attended International business

• Training for final year students of MCA

A two day workshop was organized for MCA III (all shifts) students on 15th

& 16th

September 2014. Ms. Neeli Pangudwale, HR Trainer, trained the students in ‘Interview

handling techniques’, group discussion and role play was also included in the workshop.

• One day training program for MCA III students

The Institute organized a one day training program for MCA III students on 22nd

Sept. 2014

on ‘Advance Joomla’. The Training was conducted by Prof. N.M. Khachane, Director,

IMCS, Pune. This was useful for all students because JOOMLA is a very popular CMS and

will be useful in their project & placement.

• Fest-Der-Tech 2014

On the occasion of IT day (20th August) IT department organized various competitions

which received an overwhelming response. These competitions were organized for the

students of B.A, B.Com, B. Sc, B.C.A, B.C.S, M.Sc, M.C.M and M.C.A from Ahmednagar

District. 624 students from 21 different institutes/colleges throughout the district participated

in the event. These competitions were organized for Under graduate and Post graduate

• Personality Development Course

Prof. Sujata Manolkar conducted a one month Personality Development course for MCA II

students from 13th

Sept. to 11th

October 2014. 5 sessions were conducted and 28 students

participated. Topics covered were Improving Self Confidence and Self Esteem, Improving

English communications skills, Attitude and Goal setting, Time Management and Interview

Techniques.

• Workshop on Case tools

As per the new syllabus of MCA –Vth semester, a workshop on CASE tools was organized

for the students of MCA. A workshop was conducted by Prof. N.M. Khachane, Director,

IMCS, Pune on 11th

November 2014 in the Institute. Workshop included the topics like

Software project Management using MS project, Software configuration management,

Cersion controlling using Windows and Linux O.S. platform. Prof. Khachane also installed

CentOS Linux server for our lab and provided some software so that our students can practice

the same during their practical sessions.

• Aptitude test

An aptitude test on IT GKL, DBMS and Fundamentals of Computers was organized for

MCA students. Total 38 students participated in the test in the preliminary round out of

which 10 were shortlisted for final round. Winners include Mr. Swanand Keskar – first, Ms.

Shweta Shriram & Mr. Nikhil Muttha – second & Mr. Sunita Tutare - third.

• National level two days workshop on Cyber Security sponsored by University of Pune

The Institute conducted National level two days workshop on Cyber Security in association

with BCUD – Savitribai Phule Pune University on 18th

& 19th

December 2014. The

workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Arun Ingle, Chairman, Knowledge

Management Board, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. 115 participants from various

Institutes participated in the workshop.

Dr. M.B. Mehta, Director addressed the participants about B.P.H.E. Society, Institute

courses, importance of workshop and other activities carried out in the Institute. Dr. S.B.

Kolte, Director General highlighted the role and importance of Information Technology and

security issued in our day today life. Chief Guest Dr. Arun Ingle, Chairman, Knowledge

Management Board, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune appreciated the efforts taken by

the Institute and given introductory talk on Cyber Security, Cyber Ethics and Moral

principles. He also discussed some case studies related to cyber crime and need of cyber

security in today’s world.

Expert speaker Mr. Sunny Vaghela, Director, Tech Defence, Ahmedabad started session on

Introduction to Cyber Crime, Cyber ethics, Information gathering and scanning, etc with few

case studies. In the second session he conducted hands on session ‘Web Application and

security, Mobile, VoIP hacking and security. In the third session he covered topics on Email

Dr. Amol Goje, Chairman, Computer Management Board, Savitribai Phule Pune University

Cyber Security and briefed on the advancement and development related to cyber security

and preventive majors, tips to be taken while using computer and internet.

• Guest lecture attended by IMS students at IBMRD, Ahmednagar

20 students of MCA III of our Institute attended a guest lecture held at Institute of Busines

Management & Rural Development, Vilad ghat, Ahmednagar. Mr. Devanshu Mehta, Local

Campus Manager, Mr. Thirunauvarsu, Senior Manager & Mr. Devendra Pratap, Seneor

Manager, Wipro Infrastructure Services, Chennai , guided the student about various career

opportunities in Wipro GIS.

• Parent Teacher meet

Parent teachers meet of I.T. department was organized on 4th

October 2014 with the objective

to build rapport between Institute and parent as well as to improve quality of education.

Director General Dr. S.B. Kolte, Director Dr. M.B. Mehta & HOD of I.T. Dept Prof. U.H.

Nagarkar addressed the audience. Faculties shared the efforts they are putting for grooming

students. All parents have given positive feedback about the execution and management of

• Faculty Development program organized by IMS on Spring Hibernate

A Faculty Development programme on Spring – Hibernate (as per the new syllabus of MCA

V semester) was organized for the faculty members of IT Department. FDP was conducted

by Ms. Anita Mutha of Tata Consultancy Services, Pune on 12th

July and also on 1st – 2

The Institute conducted a research on 'Situation of Primary & Sub Primary Health

Centre's in Ahmednagar & Pathardi Taluka'. For this research Institute has conducted

survey of 15 Primary Health Centre's & 43 Sub Centre's in Ahmednagar and Pathardi

Taluka. Two faculty members Mr. Sachin Gholap & Mr. N.D. Pawar participated in the

same survey. Institute has also conducted a survey of beneficiaries of health centres in

Ahmednagar & Pathardi Taluka. 80 students from MBA, MCA & MPM participated in

the survey. A program was organized on 1st March 2015 in the Institute to publish the

BCUD of S.P. Pune University organized ‘Avishkar 2014’, Novel Research Project

competition for Regional level on 30th

Twelve students from IMP presented their research projects. The participating students

were from MBA & MBA courses. The projects of both MBA & MCA were appreciated

by the judging panel. The students selected for Zonal level are Ishpreet Khanuja &

Namrata, Smruti Joshi, Prasad Thange & Shailesh Raut, Prashant Mulay & Ankita

Khandelwal. These students will participate at the Zonal Level which will be held at

University of Pune.

• Prof. Rajendrasing Pardeshi has successfully completed Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr.

Ms. Meera Kulkarni in December 2014.

• Ms. Nilofer A. Shaikh has successfully completed Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. R.P.

Deshmukh in January 2015.

• Research Grants From Board of College and University Development (BCUD),

University of Pune, Pune

� The research projects submitted for research grant by Prof. Ms. Supriya Sapa is

sanctioned by BCUD, University of Pune for the academic year 2014-16. The

University has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 80,000/-. The title of the research project

is ‘A study to increase customer retention rate in insurance industry using data mining

techniques.’

� The research project submitted for research grant by Prof. V.V. Shinde & Prof. Ms.

Ashwini Thorat is sanctioned by BCUD, University of Pune for the academic year

2014-16. The University has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 70,000/-. The title of the

research project is ‘A study of problems in Industries due to absenteeism in

Ahmednagar District.’

Retirement planning workshop : ‘The best is yet to be’

Retirement planning workshop titled ‘The best is yet to be’ was organized on 2nd

August

2014. Pre activity preparation involved promoting this program in the police department,

ADCC Bank, SBI, Zilla Parishad office, MCCI, State transport, Traffic police department,

Collector’s office, senior citizens group, holding a press conference to announce the same,

networking with interested participants, etc.

Sixty eight participants attended this program from Ahmednagar & its nearby areas. It was

conducted as an introductory session for two hours. Participative & activity orientation were

the methodology in use. All areas of retirement concerns : Finance, health, relationships, will

preparation, hobbies etc were taken for discussion.

It was well received & a positive feedback was generated requesting for a repeat in detail.

Rotary mid town (Mr. Raje) also invited for an hour talk in this area on August 7, 2014, after

review of this program in newspapers.

• N.S.S. activity

Workshop on first aid training to auto rickshaw drivers was conducted on 31st August 2014.

110 auto rickshaw drivers participated in the said workshop. Mr. Shankarrao Ghule,

President, Riksha Panchayat, Ahmednagar, Dr. Veer, Dr. S.B. Kolte, Mr. Anil Dhatrak, RTO,

Mr. Jitendra Lalwani, Director, Lalwani Motors were present for the same. Dr. Veer gave

presentation on first aid training.

• Activities of Diploma in Hospital Administration

� A guest lecture of Dr. Joseph Padule, SAO, Swasthya Hospital, Ahmednagar was

organized on ‘Health Insurance’ on 25th

� A study tour to ‘Army Hospital’ was organized for the students in August 2014.

� Convocation programme for ‘Diploma in Hospital Administration’ on 22nd

The Institute organised a convocation programme for the first batch of ‘Diploma in Hospital

Administration’ programme. 14 students successfully completed this one year autonomous

programme started in January 2014. Dr. Parvez Grant, Chief Cardiologist and Managing

Trustee, Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune was the Chief Guest of the programme. Many leading

doctors attended the programme. Dr. A.R. Mancharkar was the Co-ordinator and Dr. Shweta

Prabhakar was the Course In-charge of the Programme.

N.S.S. Activity - Road Safety Awareness camp

Mr. Dhokale, Police Inspector & In charge of Traffic police gave the guidelines to MBA,

MCA & MPM students. He also provided the information about the fine for breaking the

rules of traffic. 115 students were present for the programme.

Blood Donation Drive

Blood donation drive was organized on 22nd

January 2015 on the occasion of ‘Founders

Day’. This time blood donation camp was organized for the benefit of Thalassemia patients

alongwith Thalessemia society of Ahmednagar and Arpan Blood Bank. Blood bags out of

collection made in our camp was made available free of cost to Thalessemia patients. In the

camps this time 108 blood bags were collected.

Promotion of Marathi movie ‘Razakar’

Interaction with students of MBA by producers and Actors of Marathi movie ‘Razakar’

which was released on 27th

renowned actor Sihharth Jadhave who is in lead role, visited IMS for interacting with

students. Alongwith promotion speech of movie Sidharth Jadhav has given a brilliant

Vidyarthini Manch activities

• As per the S.P. Pune University’s Vidyarthini Arogyam Probodhan Sachme, the IMS

Vidyarthini Manch organized a Hemoglobin estimation drive for women students.

108 Hb samples were collected and sent for analysis to Pune.

• A guest lecture by Ms. Sangita Patki, a Nutritionist and a Dietarian from Nashik was

organized in the Institute on 22nd

January 2015 on ‘Nutrition’ for women students of

IMS. This program was conducted under the S.P. Pune University’s Vidyarthini

Arogyam Probodhan scheme.

• A seminar was arranged by IMS Vidyarthini Manch under the directives of S.P. Pune

University’s Arogya Prabodhan Programme on ‘Self Defence – Sexual Harassment

Recognition & Reaction’ by Dr. P.M. Sharma, on 18th

February 2015 in IMS

Conference hall at 11.30 a.m. for lady students of MBA & MCA. The Seminar

consisted of tips related to recognizing sexual harassment and the reactions and

control methods one need to keep in mind. Self defence demonstration was also

given and common mistakes that women make when in critical situations were

discussed.

• International Women’s Day

IMS Vidyarthini Manch celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing

“Samvad” on 10th March, 2015 at the IMS Campus. Renowned singer and actress Ms

Faiyaz Shaikh and Ms Vandana Gupte, a renowned cine star were the guests on the

occasion. Ms Mangala Khadilkar a renowned television show hostess interviewed

95th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan. On this occasion Ms Anuradha

Thakur, a famous artist, whose painting has the honour of being placed in the Prime

Minister’s Office recently, was honoured by the hands of Ms Faiyaz Shaikh for her

achievement. The programme was attended by ladies from Ahmednagar city and

district and the IMS lady students. On this occasion Library conducted Breast

Cancer Awareness activity. During this activity, the renowned guest’s and the

invited ladies (audience) for the programme organized by Vidyarthini Manch’s

Samwad, were pinned up with the pink color awareness ribbon and handed over

informative pamphlets. The Library also put up a display of the posters related.

Certificate Course in Event Management

The institute has started a certificate course in ‘Event Management’ on 10th

November 2014.

Mrs. Shraddha Gandhi conducts this course. This course is of 3 months duration. 28 students

have enrolled for the first batch. Prof. Manoj Kulkarni is the coordinator of this course.

Annual Prize Distribution

On 7th

march 2015, Annual Prize Distribution Function was organized in the Institute. Mr.

Sharad Munot, President, P M Munot Memorial Trust & Mr. Ashok Firodiya, President,

Ramesh Firodiya Educational Trust were the guest of honors. Various prizes related to sports

event, cultural event, scholarship, earn and learn scheme certificates, Library awards for best

user and essay competition, teaching staff achievements, non-teaching staff achievements,

student council activities, vidyarthini Manch activities, Best students of all courses were

prizes during the program. Overall championship award was also given to MBA II B for

their outstanding performance in all the events.

Alumni Meet 2015

Alumni Meet 'Nostalgia 2015' was organised on 7th

March 2015. Mr.Santosh Panicker –

Head-HR,Sears Holding Corpoartion, Pune and Mr. Rajendra Deshpande –Head ERP L&T

Infotech, Pune were the Chief Guests. More than 350 alumni participated in the meet with

enthusiasm and nostalgic memories. Some alumni also participated in the cultural activities.

The Alumni interacted with the present batch students and shared their experiences. 'Alumni

Newsletter' was published in the meet. 17 Alumni were awarded for their achievements in

their professional career as ‘Star Alumni'. The Alumni also gave valuable feedback. The meet

concluded with cultural programme followed by dinner.

A workshop on ‘Samvad Kala’

More than ten girl alumni of institute formed a group named ‘ASMITA GROUP’. The

objective of this group is to help current as well as passed girl students in grooming their

personality. A workshop named ‘Sanvad Kala’ was organized on Sunday 22nd March 2015

in conference hall of IMS. This workshop was from 11.00am to 5.00pm conducted by

renowned Sahyadri Doordarshan news reader Ms. Jyoti Ambekar. Dr. S. B. Kolte, Director

General welcomed Ms. Jyoti Ambekar and all delegates. He also congratulated all members

of ASMITA group for their initiative taken. The banner of ASMITA group was inaugurated

by hands of Dr. Kolte and Ms. Jyoti Ambekar. Workshop was inaugurated by lighting of

lamp by Ms. Jyoti Ambekar, Dr. Kolte and Prof. Nagarkar. Ms. Ambekar showed various

clips about best communication practices. She emphasized on public speaking, new reading,

body language. She also conducted few practical sessions, case studies related to

Silver Jubilee Year function of the Institute was organized on 20th

March 2015. Padmashree

Dr. Prakash Amte, Ramon Magsaysay Award winner for Community leadership,

renowned social worker & philanthropist was the Chief Guest of the program & Dr. Mrs.

Mandakini Amte was Guest of Honour.

• The first event of the day was photo exhibition of the work of Dr. Prakash Amte &

IMS achievements. Exhibition was inaugurated by the hands of Dr. Prakash Amte &

Dr. Ms. Mandakini Amte.

• The second event was interaction of Dr. Prakash & Dr. Mandakini Amte with the staff

of the Institute. The session was very interactive. Staff members asked them questions

about their journey at Hemalkasa.

• Third main event was formal celebration program held at 6.00 p.m. In that program

following activities took place :-

1. The program started with release of 25 balloons commemorating our 25 years

of Institutional life at the hands of the guests.

2. Releasing of IMS song. It is written by Mr. Sameer Thite & music directed by

Dr. Gopalrao Mirikar. It is decided that henceforth in all program of IMS this

song will be played.

3. Release of documentary film as journey of IMS in last 25 years.

4. Releasing of souvenir of IMS.

5. Releasing of Postal stamp of IMS.

6. Felicitation of Dr. Prakash Amte & Dr. Mrs. Mandakini Amte by offering

them ‘Role of Honour’ which has review of his entire contribution of society.

7. Felicitation of Director General Dr. S.B. Kolte by B.P.H.E. Society by

offering him ‘Role of Honour’ for his immense and valuable contribution in

foundation & development of IMS/

8. On behalf of IMS Dr. Kolte handed over donation of Rs. 4,00,000/- to Dr.

Prakash Amte. This amount is raised through contribution of the staff

members of the Institute and also by some associates of IMS.

���� Library Activities ����

Library Orientation

Our Library has been conducting Orientation Program for the new students admitted every

academic year (under Information Literacy Program). Library is a service oriented body. The

services are aimed at spreading the Library’s activities, services and functions along with the

rules and regulations & thus help to better utilization of library services. The goals of the

practice are :

a. To orient the newly enrolled Library user to the membership, resources, staff, facilities,

services, clearance, donations, best practices, etc.

b. To raise awareness about the rules and regulations & to optimize usage of the Library,

c. To provide guidance about barcode circulation, e-resources and databases, book bank,

eUSALibrary details etc.

Library tour and orientation for freshers was conducted during the academic year 2014-15.

The students were scheduled in three batches of 20 – 30 students in each batch. They were

welcomed and updated with library profile by Mrs. Barnabas, circulation section and related

peripheral information was given by Mr. Jitin Adhav. Mrs. Vasudha Deshpande updated the

students about OPAC, e-Projects and stacking area and reading hall area. Mr. Siraj Shaikh

introduced the Journal and periodical section and the usage of Projects, Company reports and

Bound volumes. The information about E-resources was given by the Librarian. The students

were directed towards the Library’s exit and handed over Information leaflet about the

Journals, login details of e-resources and steps for search strategy along with Perk bar. The

schedule was viz, MBA students on 1st August 2014 and MCA students on 4

th August 2014.

The tour cum orientation encouraged the students to use the Library by motivation and thus

inculcating reading habits and self study among the students.

• Author speaks

The program ‘Author speaks’ was conducted to raise awareness about the author’s books, and

to provide platform for author – user interaction for optimum usage of the library collection.

The IMS Learning Resource Centre organized Author speaks – i.e. a book talk show for IMS

second year students in association with M.P.M. course. The Chief Guest was renowned

author and Ex-Head, Department of Psychology, Ahmednagar College, Prof. Dr. Hemant

Gokhale. The programme is conducted during the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan

and under the auspices of the Information Literacy Programme (User education). The

function was inaugurated by Dr. Gokhale by ribbon cutting session on 22nd

August 2014. The

Library’s Newsletter Vol. 5 Issue I August 2014 was released. The book exhibition by ‘Uday

Book Agency’, Ahmednagar of motivational books was kept open for all students. The

programme motivated the readers and educators in order to foster good reading habits and

achieve personal success. It received a very good feedback and every one thoroughly made

the utmost use of the topic discussed.

• Lecture series

The lecture series was organized by the Learning Resource Centre and Department of I.T.

titled ‘Emerging trends and career opportunities for MCA students.”. This is the 7th

year of

Library to conduct such deliberation under the auspices of the Information Literacy

Programme (User education). The scope was :

i) Overview of existing technologies in the syllabus.

ii) New technologies used in IT industry.

iii) Resources available to learn these technologies.

iv) Comparative studies to these technologies.

v) Prerequisite and skills required for these technologies.

vi) Opportunities and industries where technology is available.

The objectives were :

a) To make students aware of new technologies

b) To make students aware about career opportunities.

c) To establish link between Institute and Industry.

d) To motivate students to learn new technologies.

It was inaugurated by Mr. Kishore Ingle, Branch head, Resource Centre, Tata

Consultancy Services by lighting the lamp in conference hall. He updated the readers and

educators about the emerging trends and job opportunities for MCA III year students.

The programme received a very good feedback and every one thoroughly made the

utmost use of the topic discussed. The guidance & encouragement definitely helped our

students.

• Celebration ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ on 31/10/2014

IMS Library has put up the display about life and history, achievements, pictorial

representation alongwith book jackets about Sardar Patel to familiarize the students with the

contribution made by him. The books has been displayed in the Library containing writings

about him for a fortnight starting from 31st October 2014 to 15

th November 2014 to spread

the word in the building of India especially with regards to its Unity, Safety and Security.

• Mrs.Swati Barnabas & Mr. Shankar Rashinkar attended one day National seminar on ‘Best

Practices in the College Libraries’ organized by the Department of Library, Shri Guru

Buddhiswami Mahavidyalaya, Purna, Parbhani on 21st November 2014. They also presented

a paper on ‘Best Practices in Institute of Management Studies, Career Development &

Research, Ahmednagar : A case study.’

• Mrs. Swati Barnabas & Ms. Rasal Ujwala attended UGC sponsored National Conference on

Challenges in 21st Century Librarianship organized by C.T. Bora College, Shirur on 9

th &

10th

January 2015. They also presented a paper entitled ‘Professional skills and best practices

in Institute of Management Studies (CD&R), Ahmednagar’ which was published in the

Conference proceedings which was brought out as special issue 1 & 2 of the CTBC’s

International Research Journal. The issue covered 90 Research papers contributed by authors

from various part of the country.

• Books & photographs exhibition: 125th

Birth Anniversary of Founder Dr. B.P. Hivale.

A books and photographs exhibition was organized on the life of Dr. B.P. Hivale to

commemorate the 125th

birth anniversary of the founder of Ahmednagar College. It was

inaugurated by Hon. Dr. N.M Aston, Chairman, B.P.H.E. Society Ahmednagar in presence of

Dr. S .B. Kolte, Dr. M .B .Mehta, Dr. Meera Kulkarni, Prof. Uday Nagarkar and IMS Faculty

and students. The other dignitaries like Dr. R.J. Barnabas, Principal Ahmednagar College and

Dr. Suresh Pathare, Director ISWR-CSRD visited the exhibition. The exhibit included about

100 books read by Dr. Hivale and around 25 books written by /on him. It also included rare

photographs at Wilson College, Mumbai; Lecturing at Harvard University; Family

Photographs; growing up years of Ahmednagar College, scanned copies of the bi-lingual

periodical Dnyanodaya etc. The Ahmednagar College Library and ISWR-CSRD library lend

their collection for the exhibit under Inter Library Loan.

• Students-Library Activity:

The “Student Library Activity” by the Students-Library Committee was conducted with the

theme s UNITY IN DIVERSITY and 10 students participated by submitting their artifacts and

articles. Prof. U.H. Nagarkar evaluated the display and selected the winner. Certificates were

given to the winners, as below -

• District level photography competition

The District Level Photography Competition was conducted by the Library to mark the 125th

Birth Anniversary year of the founder Dr. B.P. Hivale. It was held during the period i.e. Nov.

14- mid Jan.15. The winners were felicitated by Dr. Aston, Chairman, B.P.H.E. Society

Ahmednagar. The judges were Mr. Jitendra Agarwal, Professional photographer and Mr.

• Under the auspices of silver jubilee celebration the Library worked on the project of

“My stamp”, an initiative by Indian Postal Services, General Post Office Pune, with

the imprint of new building of IMS. Total 50 sheets (No. of 12 stamps /sheet @ Rs.

300.00 each) were ordered with different flowers such as Lily, Dahlia, Cineraria,

Pansy. The period of activity was from 1st Jan -11 March. 2015, successfully

implemented.

• The project of “Coffee Mug” with the imprint of new building of IMS was

successfully completed. Total no. of mugs were 300 @ Rs.200 each were ordered to

commemorate the silver jubilee function on 20th

• Mr. C.D. Mohite attended a one day workshop on ‘Online eligibility process training’

• Mr. D.D. Tungar attended Orientation programme for 'Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

& State Government Scholarship for the year 2014-15’ organized by Regional Office ,

• A financial grant of Rs. 1,00,000/- is sanctioned for purchase of LED TV under

Quality Improvement Scheme of S.P. Pune University.

���� IMS- Videocon Academy of Fine and Performing Arts Activities ����

• In the month of April and May 50 Bharatanatyam students appeared for Examination

conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. All the students passed

with distinction and first class.

• On 13th

December 2014 Academy Celebrated 13th

Anniversary Function. 90

students of Bharatanatyam, 40 students of Kathak and all Faculty members participated in

this Function. The Guests for the Program were Shri. Tanmay Deochakke, Mrs. Jyoti

Mate and Mrs. Dhanashree Kadgaonkar. The program was appreciated by all Guests and

audience.

• On 10th

January 2015, 60 students of Bharatanatyam went to Kolhapur and participated in

an event naming ‘Nrutya Sanskar’. It was organised to create Guinness book world

record. And record of 2500 girls dancing together was done and Academy students were

part of that event.

• On 26th

January 2015, Students and Faculty members of Bharatanatyam and Kathak

performed at Sanjog Hall for a Program organised by ‘Bharat-Bharati’. It was a program

with people from different states of India coming together to exchange ideas.

• On 3rd

February 2015, Students and Faculty of Academy performed in an event of

National Youth Project, on invitation of Badisajan group.

• On 10th

March, 2015 students of Bharatnatyam performed ‘Ganesh Vandana’ and

students of Kathak perfomed ‘Badal’ on the occasion of International women’s day

program ‘Samvad’ organized by IMS.

• On 20th

March, 2015 students of Bharatnatyam and Kathak performed ‘Nritya Milap’. In

this performance fusion of both dance style were performed. The performance was

during the Silver Jubilee Year Celebration program of the Institute.

• On 21st March, 2015 students of Bharatnatyam performed ‘Ganesh Vandana’ at Gudi

Padwa ‘Swara Pancham’ program at savedi.
