Improving Quality and Safety in Your Endoscopy Unit Course

Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program

Designed to promote discussion and provide a demonstration of methods to improve quality and safety in the endoscopy unit, this course serves as the foundation of the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program.

The only national program honoring superior quality in endoscopy units as evidenced by a unit’s adoption of ASGE and CDC guidelines relative to privileging, quality assurance, endoscope reprocessing and infection control.

Open to all healthcare professionals interested in advancing their knowledge in endoscopy unit quality and safety.

Open to all settings where endoscopy is practiced and where at least 50% of the endoscopists are ASGE members.

Quality in gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy matters.

Translating quality concepts into practice can be

challenging, which is why ASGE has developed the

Improving Quality and Safety in Your Endoscopy Unit

course to educate physician and non-physician staff on

how to create a high-quality endoscopy unit. Through a

mix of didactic lecture and interactive sessions taught by

leading experts in the field, participants will gain a greater

understanding of endoscopy unit quality and safety.

Intended Audience Practicing gastrointestinal endoscopists and surgeons, medical directors, nurse managers, unit managers and allied professionals interested in advancing their knowledge in endoscopy unit quality and safety.

Units interested in applying for the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program or renewing their ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Certificate are encouraged to send both a physician and a non-physician manager to the course. Program eligibility criteria require completion of this course by at least one unit representative within one year of the program application. To learn more about the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program visit www.asge.org/quality/EURP.

ASGE Quality ProgramsASGE offers discount pricing on course registration to those units participating in the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program. To learn more about the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program, or about ASGE’s portfolio of quality-related programming, visit www.ASGE.org/quality.
