CONCEPTCONCEPTThe student card will not only be an identification card but it will also be used for different kinds of school transactions. As you enter the school you have to swipe your card. No guard will be necessary at this point. As you enter the library you swipe your card to enterWhen you borrow books you swipe your card. The librarian can easily access your library records through the ID.When you print copies or printouts you swipe your card at the printer, the cost of the printing will then be deducted from you student card balance. This way AGSB will not need the counter for printing and the staff handling the printer. These resources can now be used for other tasks within AGSB.The student ID card can also be used for buying books at Ateneo, this way you would not have to go to the cashier counter and then back to the book counter. You just swipe your card directly. The ID can also be used as meal card or a card where you can transfer money and transact

The ID will serve as universal ID for all transactions to be done in school. The student will basically have an account where the student can access payment done online. The barcode will almost work as a debit card. You have to transfer money to it in order to buy copies etc. you transfer money online and then within hours your student card will be topped up and ready to use. Since the barcode is already on the card, continuous use of this technology might be the easiest and least expensive. Ateneo will have to get barcode readers on the printers, in the counters and at the entrances.
