IMPRESS
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
IMPRESS will develop a new range of easy to install pre-fabricated panels, to reduce energy demand while preserving or improving the aesthetics of the building.

Monitoring
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
Partner: Geonardo
Equipment: Faro 3D laser scanner
Software: Faro
Task:The building surface is scanned from a range of positions around the site to the level of accuracy required in the final 3D computer model
3D Scan
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
Partner: QUB, IES
Equipment: Laptop/PC
Software: AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Revit, Rhino
Task:The point cloud data is imported in to 3D CAD Software, transformed to a mesh, and modelled from a predefined library to produce a 3D model of the cladding
3D Model
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
Partner:QUB, Techrete, Sirus
Equipment: Concrete mixer, shotcrete pump, water treatment, constant temperature room
Task:The external layer of mix is poured into the mould, the shear truss ties, insulation and sensors inserted and the internal layer of the sandwich panel is poured.
Cast Panels
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
Partner: Techrete
Equipment: Heavy Lifting equipment and specialised tools
Task:Fittings such as windows, vents and other components are installed in the panels at the factory in advance of transport to the site
Construction
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 636717
InstallationPartner: Techrete, Bergamo, Biesse
Equipment: Specialised installation equipment
Task:The panels are fixed onto the existing structure and sealed with a novel silicon/elastomeric jointing system.
