Bryanston Catholic Church of the Resurrection 10 July 2020 CHURCH NEWS A message about our priests As of 9 July, 238 339 South Africans have tested positive for COVID19. Of which 34% are here in Gauteng. As the numbers continue to climb it is logical that we are more likely to come in contact with someone who is COVID positive and infectious. Our priests have been working so hard during lockdown, ensuring that parishioners are being spiritually fed. All the while adhering to rules and protocols laid out by the government, as well as guidance from the PPC. This week Fr Tshepo gave the Last Rites to one of our parishioners who, it was later confirmed, had subsequently tested positive for the Coronavirus. The protocol for everyone who comes into contact with someone who is COVID19 positive is to self-isolate for 14 days from the day of contact. Fr Tshepo was wearing Personal Protective Equipment when he gave the Last Rites. Unfortunately, Fr Keith is ill with bronchitis. He has seen a doctor and is on medication.
