SIX STEPS IN THE GOAL SETTING PROCESS:1. Identify your goal in writing. If it’s not

written, it is just a wish.

2. Identify any short-term goals or steps necessary to achieve a long-term goal.

3. Identify all resources that can assist you in achieving the goal.

5. Continue to improve and refine your plan.

6. Evaluate. What went well? What could you improve on when pursuing a similar goal in the future?

Example of a BAD goal:

I want to do better in math.

Example of a GOOD goal:

Raise my math grade from 80% to

90% by the end of the semester.

Do better in math.

Example of a GOOD goal:

I want to increase my pushup max from 5 to 10 pushups by the end of the quarter.
