Workshop PresentationWorkshop PresentationActive learning is a method of
learning in which students are activelyinvolved in the learning process. It is amodel of instruction that focuses theresponsibility of learning on learners.Active Learning, as a new approach ofteaching, can be used to implementresponsible science within youngreserchers. Responsible science is apractice of scientific investigation withintegrity. It involves the awareness andapplication of established professionalnorms and ethical principles in theperformance of all activities related toscientific research.
The over all learning goals of thisworkshop is the use of active learningmethods to apreciate researchmisconduct from the laboratory to thescientific publication, and to understandwhat is responsible authorship and dualuse.
During this two days workshop, differents issues will be covered, with theuse of case studies, group work, processing scenarios, discussions andsynthesis. Also the formative andsummative assessment will be used toimprove student understanding andskills.

• Give courage to learners to interact andparticipate at the discussion
• And the the student is no more a receiver but heparticipates to the development of information

over beyond that time
• The time that we had to organize the workshop was the bad
period in the year of us (period of exam, defense of the licence
and master project, …)

How did you interrelate the topics of your sessions?
The over all learning goal of this workshop is theuse of active learning methods to apreciateresearch misconduct from the laboratory to thescientific publication, and to understand what isresponsible authorship and dual use.
First we tried to motivate participants, and attractthem by this method of learning. After we takethis opportunity to sensitize them in a logical andchronological order of events. The diversifiedactivities avoid to boring the participants
