In the beginning…God created the world and on the

Genesis 1: 26-2726) Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." 27) So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Adam and Eve

Genesis 3: 15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die."

Adam and Eve (cont.)Genesis 3: 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.

Adam and Eve

Genesis 3: 23 therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life.

Abram moved to Mamre (a couple of miles north of Hebron) where he built an altar to God. He made friends with "Mamre the Amorite" and his brothers, and with "Ephron the Hittite"When Sarah died, Abraham bought the Cave of Machpelah from Ephron the Hittite for a burying place. When Abraham himself died he too was buried there.
