Papal Intention for the Month of March Prayer intention for Evangelization—Catholics in China
We pray that the Church in China may persevere in its faithfulness to the Gospel and grow in unity.
Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parishes Welcome You!
March 8, 2020
2nd Sunday Of Lent
Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them
up a high mountain by themselves. And he was
transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and
his clothes became white as light. ….While Peter was still
speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them,
then from the cloud came a voice that said,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased;
listen to him.”

Prayer Line Ministry
Do you have a prayer request?
Please place them on our Prayer Line by
contacting the Parish Office at
(425)349-7014, or any of the following:
Joan Henry (425)252-1710 ,
Cindy Thomas (425)334-2280 ,
Bob Sienkiewich (425)337-0410 or
You may also place a written request in one of the
boxes provided in the vestibules of the churches.
Intentions remain published on the Prayer Line for
one month, unless you request otherwise.
Care Team Ministry 1 Corinthians 12 - Let us all be concerned for one another. The Care Team’s goal is to help support all of
you however we can. If anyone you know is experiencing a difficult time in their life, please call (425)312-3109 or email us at [email protected]. “Help Request” forms and a drop box are available in the back of the church. Please share your joys as well: births, baptisms, marriages, milestone birthdays & anniversaries or new jobs! We make cards, phone calls, visits, bring meals, and offer prayers. Together we can be a blessing to one another. We meet the 1st Monday of the month, at Noon in St. Mary’s Hall if you’d like to join our ministry.
Picketing for Prayer - Recently, while
holding the bright yellow “Prayer Ministry”
sign as “Hospitality Minister” after Mass, I
was asked “Are you picketing?” I
immediately responded “Yes, I’m picketing
for prayer.” We who are involved in the
Prayer for Healing Ministry encourage YOU
to consider accepting the invitation to
receive prayer. All of us have challenges,
whether physical, emotional, spiritual or relational. We all
have our ups and downs. I also received, on the same day,
positive feedback from a parishioner who acknowledged
having received a physical healing after Prayer Ministry;
that is, receiving prayer from a prayer team (2 people). No
issue is too small or too large. Our Ministers completed a
formation program. It is all confidential. Don’t
hesitate. Prayer for Healing Ministry is offered every
Sunday after 8:30 & 11:30 a.m. Masses at Our Lady of
Perpetual Help, and after the 10:00 a.m. Mass at
Immaculate Conception on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the
month. It is open to anyone. For questions, call John &
Carmen Sullivan at 425-334-5977. We are picketing for
prayer! God bless you!

Here are three simple suggestions or prompts from Catholic Relief Services to aid you in your Lenten growth: PRAYER—Holy God, may our fasting be a hunger for justice, our alms an offering of peace, and our prayers a reflection of humble and grateful hearts. Amen. FASTING—What you give up during Lent changes lives. What will you fast from during these 40 days?
ALMSGIVING— Through CRS Rice Bowl, we journey with
members of our human family around the world, and commit
our Lenten prayers, fasting and almsgiving to deepening our
faith and serving those in need. Go to www.CRSRiceBowl.org
to explore opportunities for prayer, fasting, learning and
giving.

“Like a ship’s anchor hidden far beneath the
water’s surface, God is at work in our lives
even when we don’t see Him…even when we
can’t hear Him. So when our faith falters,
remember, we don’t need to see, we don’t
need to hear, we just need to trust. Jesus is your an-
