Sensoristica a microonde
Le tematiche di ricerca sono relative allo sviluppo di metodi e sensori per
la diagnostica elettromagnetica. In particolare, esse riguardano l'analisi e la
misura di antenne a larga e larghissima banda (UWB) (sensori intelligenti)
operanti in scenari complessi; lo sviluppo di modelli di diffusione
elettromagnetica e relativa implementazione mediante codici
computazionalmente efficienti, lo sviluppo di algoritmi per differenti
contesti applicativi quali il monitoraggio ambientale e di strutture per
l'ingegneria civile, la prospezione subsuperficiale tramite georadar e il
Through-Wall-Imaging, la tomografia a microonde ed a onde
millimetriche per la caratterizzazione dei materiali e per l’imaging
biomedicale per la diagnostica del tumore al seno e la detection di fratture
ossee.
Sensoristica ottica
La tematica prevede lo sviluppo ed il progetto di dispositivi e nanostrutture
per la realizzazione di sensori optoelettronici, sensori basati su
superconduttori ad alta temperatura critica e biosensori integrati e in fibra
ottica per la diagnostica clinica ed ambientale; il progetto e lo sviluppo di
sensori in fibra ottica per diagnostica ed il monitoraggio di grandi strutture
(smart structures) utili alla identificazione precoce di eventuali danni,
cedimenti ed in grado, quindi, di costituire un sistema di allarme e allerta
permanente.
Elaborazione di immagini La tematica prevede attività nel campo della elaborazione intelligente di
immagini per sorveglianza in scenari complessi, quali porti e interporti,
tramite la modellizzazione con metodi stocastici Bayesiani di oggetti in
movimento, con particolare riferimento alle problematiche di tracking, di
riconoscimento e di classificazione di situazioni critiche.
