The Below image has been manipulated for use on my film poster…

I used Photoshop to manipulate the original image to the desired effect. I used the ‘Magnetic Lasso Tool’ to separate the girl from the background, after getting rid of the white edges I pasted it onto a black background. I used a combination of the “Blur Tool”, the “Sponge Tool”, the “Dodge Tool” and the “Smudge Tool” to give the highlighted/ glowing effect.

To manipulate this image we cropped the image; this allowed the focus to be more on the girl than the background. We used “Hue” to change the colour of the image; the green looks sterile and adds mystery to the image.

If I where to manipulate this image I would use the “Magnetic Lasso Tool” on Photoshop to cut the child out and paste her onto a black background. I would then crop the image to only show the waist up.
