Steampunk design emphasizes a balance between the form and function.[47] Like the Arts and Crafts Movement, this blurs the line between tool and decoration. Various modern utilitarian objects have been modified by enthusiasts into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style.[6][48] Example objects include computer keyboards and electric guitars.[49] The goal of such redesigns is to employ appropriate materials (such as polished brass, iron, wood, and leather) with design elements and craftsmanship consistent with the Victorian era,[13][50] rejecting the aesthetic of industrial design.[47]

Illustration Winter Break Assignment: Complete the comic/character development brainstorming worksheet. Will count as quiz grade. Must be completed and handed in on Monday, Feb 24th for grading. You WILL be using the information you fill out on the brainstorm sheet to develop your own character and one page comic book layout with the character as your next project. To help maximize your class time for drawing, there will also be items posted on NIMBUS for you to check and use to help you brainstorm. The handout will also be available for download on the SCHOOL WEBSITE and NIMBUS in case you lose it.
