The long group cab in particular makes the character- ful fire truck very imposing – it also includes lengths of scaling ladder and an extending ladder on the roof, and a hose reel on the rear. And because in the history of the fire service, the Magirus round hood has never come on its own, WIKING is simultaneously releasing a multi-purpose truck that also has an "alligator" hood. The range is rounded off with other classics such as the concrete mixer with square driver's cab and Mercedes-Benz short hood in "Bölling" livery. As racy modern classics of the 1970s début the Rallye "Winterfest" version of the Opel Kadett C Coupé and the VW T2 with flatbed and open side tarps. Fans of the "ASG" forwarding com- pany can look forward to the Scania heavy transport vehicle that once again enriches the classic WIKING collector’s theme. The im- pressive latest models from new moulds include the Land Rover Defender 110, the construction site four-axle MAN TGS with tipper trailer and the THW passenger vehicle trailer. WIKING creates themed fun: The traditional model makers have pro-vided the new tipper trailer with
a Meiller drop-off tipper on a MAN TSG chassis – the latest construction site range provides attractive accents! Not only that, the model upgrades cast a nostalgic look back at past decades of vehicle construction. And the Hanomag WD most of all, which marked the beginning of early motorisation of agriculture. The Mercedes-Benz 180 and DKW F 89 also make a return. The Volvo Amazon completes the set of model upgrades in a new livery. However, at the centre of the popular range of
vans is the Ford FK 1000 in the form of a box van in contemporary "Bosch" design for spark plugs and car batteries. The VW T1 (type 2) not only appears as a minibus with roof rack but also as the fi fth model in the WIKINGcollector's edition – this time bearing the banner of the tailors “Lottchens Änderungs-Schneiderei”. The swap body truck on MAN chassis evokes the former activities of the "Beißner" forwarding company with fl exible superstructures that began revolutionising the logistics industry at the end of the 1960s. Unmissable in fl uorescent red, the Binz ambu-lance has accompanied the emergency service
on patient transports over many years. Fans of the N-gauge see new models join the range with the Magirus fl atbed tractor trailer and the agriculture trailer. And, of course, to mark the 85th anniversary of Wiking-Modellbau in all its facets, there is a theme special at the centre of the freshly printed 2017 WIKING magazine.
