IHE Integration Profiles Scheduled Workflow Patient Information Reconciliation

European Association of Radiology European Congress of Radiology European Coordination Committee of the Radiological and Electromedical I Scheduled Workflow (SWF) establishes the integrity and persistence of basic radiological data. It specifies a number of transactions that maintain the consi-stency of patient and ordering information as well as performing the scheduling and imaging acquisition procedure steps. This profile also makes it possible to determine whether images associated with a particular performed procedure step have been stored and are available to enable subsequent workflow steps, such as reporting. Patient Information Reconciliation (PIR) extends the Scheduled Workflow inte-gration profile in the case of the unidentified patient. In the example of the trauma case, it allows subsequent reconciliation of the patient record which contains images acquired before the patient‘s identity was determined. Thus images can be acquired and interpreted immediately and later, when the patient’s correct re-gistration and order information is entered into the ADT, Order Placer and Order Filler Systems, greatly simplifying these exception handling situations. Scheduled Workflow (SWF) establishes the integrity and persistence of basic radiological data.

New Integration ProfileThe new and future extension Reporting Workflow Profile (RWP) addresses the need to schedule and track the status of the various reporting tasks. Reporting tasks include inter-pretation, dictation, transscrip-tion, verification, comparison, revision, and coding. Worklists for each of these tasks are generated and can be queried; work items can be claimed and the resulting intermediate and final status returned from the system per-forming the work to the system managing the work. The system managing the work also makes the status available for other interested systems in the enterprise.

The Reporting Workflow Integration Profile is a continuation of the Scheduled Workflow Integration Profile.
