What better way to learn a language than to get out into the place where the language is spoken? And for English, where better than New York – the most exciting city in the world.

Learning English doesn’t stop at the end of class time! Our fantastic packages are all-inclusive - you don’t need to pay extra for subway tickets, entry fees, etc - there are no hidden costs.

We go everywhere from the Empire State Building, 5th Avenue and Times Square to the Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, with walking tours of some of the most interesting neighborhoods. We work hard to integrate educational aspects into the excursions, with fascinating facts, quizzes and scavenger hunts, so there is a cultural element to the trips and they are more than just shopping expeditions (though we have enough time for a bit of shopping too). Our teachers and leaders follow careful supervision and safety guidelines to ensure everyone has the experience of a lifetime.

Winter Camp in New York!

FAQsIs it safe?New York and Boston are 2 of the safest cities in the Americas and all of our campuses have excellent security. In addition, every member of our staff is security checked and trained to work with juniors.

What’s included?Accommodation, 3 meals a day, English classes, local transport, supervised excursion and activity program including entry fees to main attractions.

What isn’t included?Flights, insurance (though we can help with this), airport transfers (included for groups of 10+) and optional excursions.

What are optional excursions? In the summer, we can arrange optional trips to 6 Flags, Washington DC, a baseball game, a Broadway show, a limo ride or a trip to the shopping outlet malls (optionals are for groups of 10 or more). And in the winter, we still go to shows and to the shopping outlet malls - as well as going skiing!

Do I need a visa for my stay in the USA? Our courses are all for 15 hours per week, which means that you only need to have a tourist visa. If you come from a visa-waiver country, you just need to apply for ESTA (https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/). If your country isn’t in the visa waiver program, we’ll send you a visa support letter – just make an appointment at the embassy for a tourist visa interview.

How long are the courses? The Downtown Manhattan course in New York is strictly from one to 6 weeks.

What countries are the students from?In 2012, we had students from more than 30 different countries.

What if I don’t want to live in the residence? If you have friends or family in New York, you can join us just for classes or for full days of classes and excursions.

What about medical attention?Medical procedures can be expensive – it is vital that every student has insurance and that we have a copy of their policy. We have insurance available for $2 a day.

How much money will I need? Our courses are all-inclusive, so there is nothing that you will need money for, apart from snacks and souvenirs - $100 a week is easily enough for this. Of course, if you like shopping…

Who can come?We accept students from 12 to 18 years old, though homestay students must be at least 14 as they will be traveling unaccompanied on the subway.

What should I do next?Contact us at [email protected] or on +1 212 732 0288 for more information or to request an application form.

What is a New York / Boston combination course? You can combine your trip to take in the best that the US has to offer. Choose how many weeks you want to spend in each city. Fly into Boston and out of New York (or vice versa!) and we’ll transfer you from one center to the other.

New York looks like a postcard all year round. But it never looks more beautiful than during the snowy winter, with its sights and monuments specially lit. You’ll see all the classic sights, plus have the chance to go skating in Central Park, see the tree at the Rockefeller Center and enjoy the discounts in the winter sales.

There are two choices for accommodation – either with families in homestays or in our Winter Camp Residence. Located in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the residence has everything you need to make the most of your time in New York, including a games room, laundry and free wi-fi.

Classes will be held in our brand new school in Chelsea.

We’ll eat breakfast at the residence, then travel 25 minutes to school on the subway for classes. We’ll have lunch at or near the school and dinner either back at the residence or in a restaurant or café in the evening. Bedrooms and bathrooms at the residence are shared.

The excursion and activity program will be similar to the summer, though we might go skating instead of the outdoor movie!

And there are optional skiing weekends in Hunter (only 3 hours from New York City) for you to show off your skills on the slopes.
