Why government?• Government is the biggest buyer among all verticals in India and it

contributes 40 percent of the total pie (Source: IDC/Dataquest)

• OND/JFM are the two biggest quarters in terms of government spending

• Due to economic slowdown, government is trying to inject lot of money in the market. The government’s contribution to overall pie will definitely increase with each passing quarter creating a multiplier effect in the market

• The Sixth Pay Commission has also created a multiplier effect as government employed consumers are the largest buyers. So, positioning will add value to brand among these individuals for their personal consumption as well

The government is the biggest spender both as a corporate as well as end consumer. So, there is a golden opportunity to target government in the next 6 months

What leaders say…“i-governance (or integrated services) is the logical culmination of e-governance. Each state would need to assess how ready they are and when they can make the transition to i-governance. The trajectory would largely be similar for most states, but the pace and spread would vary from state to state”R Chandrashekhar

Additional Secretarye-Gov of India

What leaders say…“My State is looking at not only a transformation from traditional government to e-Governance but further to i-Governance. The ‘I’ here stands for integrated services to the citizens. i-Government will be a Government that works as one complex but smoothly managed organization functioning across departmental boundaries in the service of the citizens, designed to reap synergies, consolidate resources and exploit new opportunities for the common good”

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief

Minister Haryana at the 11th National e-

Governance Conference 2008,
