Office of the Inspector General, Opening Ceremony Speech

Hello Marines and delegates a-like. My name is Vanguard65, but many of you know me as Homer. I am the Inspector General of these Marine Corps. The Office of the Inspector General has two primary goals: (1) To keep the military safe from espionage and major rule violations, and (2) to keep personnel relations positive and policies upheld. The military police officers and criminal investigators that have been assigned are competent people who make it their mission to maintain bearings and an unbiased nature, even in the face of adversity. The job of an inspector general official is never easy, but it is necessary to the security of this military. By teaching our personnel how to stay safe on Habbo and online, they fulfill their obligation to their military by keeping it secure by keeping you secure. The military police and criminal investigators both use their tact and bearings to help keep the headquarters in order and keep personnel relations positive. By responding to request masts, criminal investigators result personnel disputes. It is the responsibility of every inspector general official to make sure that all personnel are following the Marine Corps Order. Every policy and procedure set in place, regardless of your personal opinions of them, are in place for a reason, and it is their job to make sure that every single one is followed. It is also their duty to assure that all personnel, be they Private or Colonel, is treated with due respect and punished with due discipline. An inspector general's official is unafraid to tell a fellow Marine when they their acting inappropriately. An inspector general's official is unafraid to constructively criticize an officer who is not acting as they should; if an officer is not mentoring enlisted and NCOs and yelling at them instead, MP and CID officers are willing to call them out on their behavior. These qualities are ones that not only every inspector general's official should have, but one that every Marine should have. To maintain the core value of courage and work for the betterment of the military by correcting bad behavior is key for a well-functioning military. If we work to better ourselves as officers, as NCO, and as enlisted, we can be a legend for other militaries to aspire to; we can be that inspiration, a glowing example of what every military should be. I have high hopes for this military. For applying, this military needs smart, capable Marines ranked GySgt or higher who are willing to follow policy and enforce it. This military need critical thinkers to find meaning in small details. I am proud to say that I have found many Marines to fit this description. I personally want to thank Tommy930, Consilio, Operryst, cfc.forever, Exacer, and Recon, for their commitment to the Office of the Inspector General, and I want to thank everybody in this room for attending to opening of a legend.
