Vehicle IFV ŠAKAL is applied for ensuring armament and meeting tasks of mechanized units equipped with original vehicles BMP.
The scope of modernization ensures keeping the requirements at high level of combat preparedness of these units, assures their capability in compliance with NATO standards while operating embattled and gives response to current trends of requirements for combat tracked vehicles.

Vehicle protection• Ballistic protection at level 3 as per STANAG 4569 with inner ballistic backing. • Mine protection as per STANAG 4569, under track of vehicle at level 2a, under
bottom of vehicle at level 1. • Installation of multispectral warning system operating in microwave and laser
spectrum, in connection with BMS and smoke grenades launchers. • Protection against observation in visible and close infrared spectrum.
Movability• Power-pack, engine with increased output, automatic transmission.
Survival on the battlefield• Fighting chamber widening, ergonomic seats with increased protection
against mine effects.•Modernfire-fightingandexplosionsuppressionsystemforprotectionof
engine-compartment and space for squad.• Independent hot air heating and air-conditioning of space for squad.
C4I• Radio compatible with NATO line control devices.• Vehicle diagnostic system attached to BMS.• Data and communication platform for soldier of 21st century.

• Surveillance and targeting systems of the commander and gunner are able to detect and target during day, night and in reduced visibility. The commander is equipped with an independent optoelectronic panoramic surveillance system (optional).
• The commander’s and gunner’s stations are positioned in the combat area in front of the turret. The commander and gunner arebothfullycapableofcontrollingtheturret,whichissupportedbythefirecontrolsystemwithanintegratedBMS.
