Yash Ashar
Amarchand Mangaldas
Yash Ashar has been a partner in the Amarchand Mangaldas Mumbai office since April 2008, joining the
firm in 2001. He focuses largely on capital markets. An experienced practitioner in Indian securities law,
Yash has been associated with a number of capital markets transactions including initial public offerings,
follow on offerings, QIPs, rights offerings, ADRs, GDRs and FCCBs. He has advised on several pioneering
capital markets transactions involving various leading Indian and overseas companies. He also has experience in privatisation, joint
ventures, private equity investments and general corporate law. Yash is part of the faculty of the Securities Law Course at the
Government Law College, University of Mumbai on topics relating to Indian securities markets and also conducts the securities law

Dr. Paritosh C. Basu is the Group Controller of Essar Group, one of the largest business conglomerates of
India. He was with Reliance Communications Ltd. as Joint President and CFO till mid August, 2008.

Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management, Kolkata and Narsee Munjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai
for about six years each.

systems integration, management audit, etc.

participated in programmes of electronic media.
He engages himself as a free lance knowledge partner for management training and development activities as his hobby. He was
also a co-opted member of Research Committee of the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the

Varoon Chandra, Partner at AZB & Partners, earned his Bachelor of Law from the National Academy of
Legal Studies and Research University of Law, Hyderabad, in 2004. He is a member of the Bar Council of

Nathan McMurtray is a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and Head of Equity-Linked
Origination, Asia. He is based in Hong Kong and focuses on the origination, structuring and

Mr. Melwyn Rego is an MBA rank holder in Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management,

Mr. Rego, joined IDBI in 1984. His assignments were in the areas of Rehabilitation Finance, Project
Finance and International Resources. He has been responsible for raising foreign currency resources for IDBI from multi-lateral

In September 2003, IDBI Bank took over a housing finance company from the Tata Group. Mr. Rego was deputed as Managing
Director & CEO of the Company which was christened IDBI Homefinance Limited. In recognition of his efforts in taking the
company to new heights, Mr. Rego was conferred the "Achiever of the Year" award by Symbiosis Institute of Business Management
Pune in 2005.
In January 2008, Shri Rego returned to IDBI Bank Ltd. after its conversion into a commercial bank and took over as Head-
International Banking Division to spearhead IDBI Bank's overseas initiatives. Arising out of his efforts, the Bank has set up a
Category I Branch at the Dubai International Financial Centre and has plans for setting up an overseas banking unit at Singapore
and a Representative Office at Shanghai. Mr. Rego also manages the raising of rupee resources through bond issuances in the
