Follow Me

Living as a disciple is a daunting task. In today’s

Gospel Jesus explains that keeping the Command-

ments is not enough to inherit eternal life. He states,

“ a disciple must give up what they must have to the

poor and follow Him.” The man who asks the ques-

tion walked away sad, even the disciples were sad

when they found out how difficult it was to get to

heaven. We cannot save ourselves, but with God, all

things are possible. God discerns the thoughts and

reflections of the heart, so the heart must be directed

towards love of him and others. We pray in Psalm

90, “fill us with your love, Oh Lord, and we will sing

for joy.” Our challenge this week is to let God’s

word penetrate our hearts and truly love God and

neighbor.

Thank you for Your Continued Generosity to St. Louis de Montfort Parish.

MASKS WILL BE WORN now until November 1st because

of the Delta strain. With an increase of sickness and the

new strain, I believe it is best if we continue until at least

November 1st, wearing the mask. MASKS are still re-

quired to be worn by ALL who enter this church. This is so

EVERYONE IS SAFE AND THERE IS NO DISCRIMINATION.

We hold to the Gospel here, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Hence,

we need to care for those who have not been vaccinated.

No holy water, missalettes or hymnals in pews along with

no music until then. You should take the missalette and

bulletins home with you. You should socialize outside of

church for the comfort of all. Communion will NOW be a

DOUBLE LINE to receive, starting from the rear pews so

that all may socially distance from leaving to returning to

your pew. There will be no Sign of Peace until we are able

to touch socially. This is so all are comfortable and are

able to come to mass and be out in 30 minutes. Please

try to come on time so we may begin on time. THANK

YOU TO ALL THE NEWCOMIMERS WHO HAVE RETURNED.

Sharing the Gospel: The man in today’s Gospel reading

thought he was pretty good. He had been careful to obey

most of God’s rules. But he forgot the most important

rule of alllove God with all your heart, mind, soul and

strength. When Jesus asked the man to give away all he

owned, the man went away sad. He loved money more

than he loved God.

Prayer: Dear God, help me to love you more than all the

gifts you have given to me. Amen.

Mission for the week: Make a list of things that are spe-

cial to you. If God asked you to give away your favorite

toy or game to someone who’s poor, could you do it? Be

honest with God, and ask him to help you love him more

than anything.
