If you are a true believer, you have come to the point that you know you are a sinner and you have reached out to Jesus to forgive your sins and save your soul. It is through this acceptance of Je- sus that we can rest in the fact that He has deliv- ered us from the penalty of sin. Because we have accepted the saving power of Jesus, we can know that we will enter Heaven when we die and we will spend eternity with the Lord. So as believers we depend upon God for everything. In fact we want our God to watch out after us as we go through our daily lives. We ex- pect Him to answer when we call upon Him in prayer. As your earthly parents have expectations of you as their child, our Heavenly Father has ex- pectations of His children. One of the simplest things God expects of us is to show up for Wor- ship. We want God to be available to us everyday. Is too much for God to expect you to be faithful to Sunday School and Worship services? We should not only attend each week, we should also bring our offerings to the Lord when we come. You can serve the Lord in other ways after you give your tithes and offerings but you can not fully serve God until you give your tithes and offerings. If you have gotten behind in the area of giving, you need to catch up. This week would be a great time to move forward in your relationship with God by being present and by being faithful in your giving. Wanng to be faithful,

If you are a true believer, you have come to

the point that you know you are a sinner and you

have reached out to Jesus to forgive your sins and

save your soul. It is through this acceptance of Je-

sus that we can rest in the fact that He has deliv-

ered us from the penalty of sin. Because we have

accepted the saving power of Jesus, we can know

that we will enter Heaven when we die and we will

spend eternity with the Lord.

So as believers we depend upon God for

everything. In fact we want our God to watch out

after us as we go through our daily lives. We ex-

pect Him to answer when we call upon Him in

prayer. As your earthly parents have expectations

of you as their child, our Heavenly Father has ex-

pectations of His children. One of the simplest

things God expects of us is to show up for Wor-

ship. We want God to be available to us everyday.

Is too much for God to expect you to be faithful to

Sunday School and Worship services? We should

not only attend each week, we should also bring

our offerings to the Lord when we come. You can

serve the Lord in other ways after you give your

tithes and offerings but you can not fully serve

God until you give your tithes and offerings. If you

have gotten behind in the area of giving, you need

to catch up. This week would be a great time to

move forward in your relationship with God by

being present and by being faithful in your giving.

Wanting to be faithful,

According to Dr. Chapman “Chap” Clark, there are three crises

intersecting within youth ministry right now:

#1 We are losing kids. Everything is taking priority over church.

#2 More and more kids are “nones.” “Nones” are a nickname for kids

who have absolutely no religion or understanding of any faith.

#3 Kids are hurt. They are beaten down by expectations to perform.

In Mark 10: 13-16, Jesus invites the children to come to him. Children

were treated as second-class citizens not deserving of attention during

the era that Jesus walked on the earth. Jesus sought to change that.

Jesus wanted to spend time with the kids. And so should we!

Dr. Clark concluded his session at a conference I recently attended by

offering an actionable solution. He said that the way to point “longing”

kids to a loving Savior is threefold:

#1 Nurture them. Remind kids they are loved and valued.

#2 Empower them. Give kids opportunities to use their gifts in church.

#3 Include them. Encourage and allow them to participate in all phases

of the church AS KIDS.

We must constantly ask of our youth ministry and our church, “Are we

doing anything that is hindering kids from coming to Christ?” There are

always answers to why kids (and parents don’t come to church). Let us

strive to NOT give them a good reason, and instead love them back into

the flock through authentically chasing after Christ in all we do.

Blessings, Bro. Eric

Begin to prepare your entire being for worship long before we meet

on Sundays and Wednesdays. We can easily pray without ceasing,

just as Jeremiah Castille reminded us. Pray that God will shape

your heart and allow us to worship Him no matter what happens in

the service. Pray for others who will be coming to worship with

you. Worship is more than the music in the service and we

shouldn’t get discouraged or upset when our favorite songs or type

of songs aren’t sung. All music is different, but if the words glorify

and praise God, our voices should be singing those words to Him.

Let’s get to praying that this Sunday will be life-changing service!
