The quality of work done by the nominees does indicate the high level of competency being developed in India in the product creation space , Start Up’s and also academia. DEFTRONICS 2014 – Sept 23 & 24, 2014The first DEFTRONICS 2014 saw a powerful line-up of industry experts, government officials, strategists, policy makers and business leaders discussing various defence related policies like the offset policy, procurement policy and FDI in defence, the licensing policy and foreign trade. A lot was discussed and debated. DEFTRONICS 2014 @ Bangalore – had 40 speakers including Thought leaders & policy makers & 350 conference attendees.
There were about 34 events executed in 2014-15
The events encompassed entire spectrum of the IESA strategy on: Government Engagements Thought Leaderships Speeches in Industry events and partnership with Industry events Academia Start Up’s Talent / Skill Development Investment promotion Exhibitions, etc.
International Marketing and Delegations: IESA has spearheaded the Indian delegation to Japan as a part of Indo-Japan work group along with DeitY in October 2014A visit of High level Government Industry Indian delegation was led by Secretary for Taiwan from 29th March to 3rd April 2015 to
promote the recent policy incentives taken up by Government of India to attract investments in ESDM sector and encourageelectronic companies in Taiwan for their expansion plans in India. Mr. MN Vidyashankar, President, IESA participated in the delegation.
IESA also assisted DeitY in the participation of its Members for Delegation to Germany and was a part in the delegation IESA has also been involved in India–Spain and India–UK Programme of Cooperation on Industrial R&D related to
funding support for challenging , collaborative and business-led R&D projects between India and Spain/ UK leading to commercialization
IESA was a part of the Indian delegation led by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) to SEMICON West 2014 held from July 8 to July 10, 2014,at the Moscone Center in San Franscisco.
The new Union government constituted under Vision and Leadership Hon’ble PM Shri. Narendra Modi gave the majorfilip to the country’s manufacturing sector thru MAKE IN INDIA call followed by DIGITAL INDIA initiatives that brought major visibility and need of the ESDM sector activities.
Government engagements: Deeper and active engagement with both Central and State governments in terms of the Strategic roadmaps, EMC’s, Incubation centers, etc Engagements with 9 state governments, worked on several DPR’s and IESA has met up with CM’s of 5 states to influence the support
from the State to the ESDM sector At the Central Government level, The EDF has been approved, IoT and Fabless policies are in the initial stage Update on MSIP’s policy is in approval stage PhD scheme with 5000 PhD’s in ESDM sector has been rolled out Active participation with MSME – providing valuable contribution in setting up of Technology under their Technology Development
Systems Programme funded jointly by World Bank & Govt. of India In addition to the two exiting Fab proposals, one new SPECIALITY FAB MOU has been signed by State of Madhya Pradesh
with Cricket Semiconductors IESA member companies has a share of 40% of the MSIPs proposal approved so far by DeitY IESA has played an important role in 5 Electronic Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) – Electronic City (Brownfield), Mysore (Brownfield),
