Our 2008 Shelby GT500 was purchased from a private party in May
2009. The car had only 532 miles on it. Ray thought we were just going to
take a look, but a'er arriving and looking at the car, I told the seller we would
take it. He didn’t know I had already taken care of the finances and all Ray
had to do was to sign on the do,ed line! We have kept it fairly stock because
we like that look. We have only added exhaust, cold air induc0on, side and
window louvers and we put some bling under the hood.
Ray and I have owned Mustangs before. I had a 1982 Wineberry Red
GT 5.0. I owned it long enough to put a new crate motor and a be,er cam in
it. I drove it for several years, then sold it to my son and he owned it for many
years. It is s0ll in the Spokane area. Ray had a 1966 2+2 but traded it in for a
1968 Dodge Charger. We also own a Metallic Teal 1995 GT Conver0ble 5.0.
We use our Shelby as a daily driver in the summer and it has been
used many 0mes to take County officials in Parades. We enjoy our
Mustangs very much. (cont. next page)

We have also met many new people while cruising in
the car and with the Club. Belonging to the IEMC has been
one of our most enjoyable and memorable 0mes!

Who Am I? Can you guess which IEMC member this is? If so, you have a chance to win
a prize at the next monthly business meeting. Send your guess to
[email protected]. One name will be drawn among the correct
answers to determine the winner. Good luck.
Hint: Mingling with a wild bunch of friends and giving them names all
started in 1951 down on the farm! My last name comes from an old
English word that means “to coat with a layer of plaster.”

Well it’s hard to believe that it is November already! With
that being said I have good news and bad news. First the bad news,
and I am just guessing as if I were a professional weather forecaster
with a master’s degree in astrology, the weather will get colder for
the next 5 or 6 months with cold rain and snow. This means that
most Mustangs will go into hibernation for the winter. The good
news is! The Mustang Club Christmas Party and gift exchange is
only about 6 weeks away. There is more good news to report, due
to a healthy treasury we can afford to only have $5 Copay for
members and $10 for guests and kids under 12 free. Darcy’s is
charging us $19 a person that means the club will pay $14 per
person this year per member.
While your Mustang is in hibernation this is a great
opportunity to do those fix ups and modifications. If you have a
classic go see Mustang Andy he might have some suggestions. If you
have a late model Mustang, consider seeing Gus Johnson for Ford
Performance parts or getting that pre storage service done so you
can just turn the key and go on that first nice day in the spring. I
would also suggest purchasing a battery tender to keep that battery
fresh.
I have done some preliminary calculations and we should
have about 4K to donate to local charities this year. If you have
suggestions please bring them forward at the Nov meeting. Please
remember that charities must be registered as such.
Our IEMC club calendars are out I think we should have
one in every household. I can’t wait to get mine. They would make
a great gift to give at the Christmas party as well. I would like to
thank Francine for all the work she put into the calendar. There are
special Mustang days and other fun days noted in the calendar plus
our club meeting days and ice cream run days.
It looks like we have people that are willing to become the
new officer team for 2019. We also have a few people that have
volunteered to continue on with the Hot Wheels Car Show
however it won’t be in Millwood. We also are looking for a new
INCCC car club rep. The duties are that you attend the monthly
meeting that is on I believe the last Tuesday of the month at
Timber Creek Buffet in Spokane Valley. You then report back to
the club at our monthly meeting. I would like to thank Jack Bean,
Jana and Mel Craven for their participation. The first meeting for
the new rep would be Jan 2019. I will continue to be the rep for
the auctions and mail out newsletters to people without email.

Back in the Day Meets
Future-’Stang Rumors of a four-door Mustang on the horizon have once again surfaced. Perhaps leaked from Ford or
maybe just specula0on, but certainly they’re nothing new. Over the years the same rumor has been bandied
about several 0mes. In fact, from the beginning of the iconic pony car there were concept cars built as sedans.
As you saw from last month’s ar0cle, even a Mustang custom Pick-up was built. This month I’m including a few
pics of more custom/concept mustangs for your enjoyment and discussion. - Editor

Ponies on the Trail Submi,ed by Pam Sto,s and Rocky Gibbs
On a bright sunny October day, while cruising along the North Fork of the CDA River, a photo op with
ponies on the trail happened unexpectedly. A stop at the top of Thompson Pass provided Vi a chance oppor-
tunity to do a meet and greet with some “ponies, Mustangs of a different type” and their trail riders from the
Montana side. An avid horsewoman in her earlier days, Vi didn’t hesitate to mix and mingle. The changing
colors of the foliage on the mountains created a perfect seFng for this roadside stop.
