Executive Summary This report covers the Standards activity for the six-month period of March to October 1, 2008. The Transformer Committee is responsible for approximately 96 active standards, plus 45 projects for new standards and revisions. In the last six months, two New standards, five Revised standards, and five Reaffirmations were approved by REVCOM. Also, five PARs and two PAR extensions were approved by NESCOM. However, we have seven standards which may expire at the end of this year; and we have three PAR’s which may expire at the end of this year.

C57.121-1998 IEEE Guide for Acceptance and Maintenance of Less-Flammable Hydrocarbon Fluid in Transformers This standard was balloted (Reaffirmation) in July 2008. It is currently in Comment Resolution stage. [Ins Fluids]

C57.124-1991 (R2002) IEEE Recommended Practice for the Detection of Partial Discharge and the Measurement of Apparent Charge in Dry-Type Transformers A Reaffirmation Ballot Invitation was opened in September 2008. [Dry]

C. December 2008 Agenda for REVCOM and NESCOM

As of Oct 1, the Agenda for December ’08 meeting of RevCom and NesCom has not been published. (An agenda has been released for a Standards Board Early Consideration teleconference, on 27 October 2008. But, there are no Transformer Committee standards on the Agenda.)
