Modeling issues meetings
Regular WG13 weekly web conferences
All WG14 and WG16 members also invited
Good participation especially when special topic called
Kendall attending most WG14 calls and some WG16
WG13 modeling call is Wednesday 10:AM US Central time
Email [email protected] to get on email list.
Lots of discussion on:
Power system projects
Model changes
Model “Frames”

Changes tracking and process
P 9
Reinstated model changes word doc for 2014. Helps my workflow. Gap for part of CIM16 not filled in.
“Issues closed in” spreadsheets
Not being maintained, seems like duplication
“Closed in” column needs better formatting to filter.
Improve tracking parallel changes in CIM16 and CIM17
“Closed in CIM16” column does not scale well
WHAT’S IN 61970 CIM 16

“Generic Change Modeling” Task Force
Formed June 12 at Brussels WG 13/14 meeting
IEC TC57 WG – 13, 14, and 16 interest
Objective: Define a modeling approach for expressing a collection of changes to a CIM dataset as an ‘Incremental Dataset’
Goals:
construction, outages, SIPS, audit trail, proposed plans,…
Grouped changes, and augmented with context information
Target of change is unknown or varies
Narrow or constrain the allowed changes (like a profile)
Works well with RDF, XSD, or other serialization technologies
Work
Requirements discussions
Use cases
Expression in UML of model changes
Discussion of change as a type of operation on models
Operations (also a prototype in UML) relation to 61968-100 verbs
Model Manager Guidance document
Not yet formalized as IEC international standard (IS)
Likely to become IEC Technical Report (TR)
Captures guidance but not formal agreement on
everything
Helpful guidance for the canonical model UML (rules)
Many (most) of these rules are codified in the
jCleanCim tool
Covers user extensions to CIM canonical model
Covers canonical model namespace specification
User feedback on sharing document in present state?
