centralised drivers explained

installing your LED drivers in a central, remote location saves on wiring and a great deal of fuss!

The iDrive® centralised range offers an alternative to the traditional one luminaire for each driver installation in favour of one remote rack-mounted driver powering multiple luminaires.

iDrive® centralised LED drivers are capable of driving up to 36 individual luminaires from a single LED driver, up to a distance of 300m away.

This not only reduces the total number of LED drivers required for an installation, but also allows the LED drivers to be installed remotely from the LED luminaires at ground-level in easy-to-access areas, such as server or maintenance rooms and other conditioned environments.

If your drivers are installed in the ceiling, you cannot get to them easily. Accessing them might require specialist equipment and carries the risk of damage to people or the environment during repair. Maintenance could also lead to significant downtime.

iDrive® centralised solutions can be positioned in a logical, ground-level location that is easy to access.

This means that external lighting or particularly difficult to access luminaires, such as in factories, churches, stairwells, hospitals, cinemas, theatres and atriums etc. are no longer a costly maintenance headache.

LED drivers work better at lower temperatures; iDrive® offers a much cooler approach!

Installing a centralised LED driver at ground-level in a remote, conditioned environment increases the efficiency and lifetime of the LED driver.

Centralising drivers also means external luminaires can be driven from an indoor location.

This is particularly advantageous in harsh environments, where standard LED drivers might be subjected to extremely warm and cold temperatures, dampness or humidity.

Location:

iDrive® physically moves the driver away from a luminaire’s location to make maintenance easier.

Server rooms:

iDrive® can be located in server rooms or service areas away from harsh environments further assisting the cool calm iDrive® approach.
