up our own production for printing on cards and lanyards and for making cases. Gradually,

penetrating deep into the material structure, so this is not just

surface dyeing.

special method of attaching: economical, durable,

The differences between the thermal transfer and retransfer printing technologies

THERMAL TRANSFER or direct printing is the most common

technology when it comes to tabletop plastic card printers.

Direct technology uses a high temperature and the printer

head to transfer the graphic from the ribbon to the empty

card. This printing technology does not ensure a perfect

coverage of the card with the graphic; there is always a very

small surface on the edges of the card which is not printed on.

RETRANSFER technology is a two-stage printing procedure. In

stage one, the printer head thermally transfers the entire graphic

from the ribbon to the transparent film. In stage two, the graphic

is transferred with the film to the empty card. In this case, the

graphic is technically somewhere between the card’s surface and

the transparent film. This technology ensures 100% coverage of

the card’s surface with the graphic.
