IDENTIFYING WITNESS DECEPTION DSBA CLE 1.5 hours CLE credit for Delaware and Pennsylvania attorneys Lying – in some form or fashion – occurs in nearly every conversation. We would be naive to think it doesn’t happen during a deposition or other settings. This session will provide a plain-English summary of the latest research on lie detection, to include: the most reliable verbal and nonverbal signs; the importance of emotions; understanding cultural differences; identifying micro-expressions; and dispelling the common lie detection myths. Attendees will learn how to structure deposition questions in a way to detect deception, watch “real world” video examples of people who were later found to be lying, and leave the seminar with a silver bullet question that can be used to detect deception in ANY situation.
