Introduction• In 21st century of living ICT is playing a key role in overall

development of mankind.• ICT mainly represents the Information Technology in a broader sense.• This particular paper is dealing with a few important terms like ICT,

Development, Knowledge and Information.• ICT as an important medium to gain knowledge or in improving and

updating to new source of knowledge.• ICT as an important medium in bringing the latest and breaking

information to the mankind for the information rich purpose.• Most importantly how ICT is helping in the overall development and

empowerment of the human society.

Background of the study This paper is a theoretical paper basically based on the available

literature related to field of ICT, Knowledge society, Information and development.

In this paper the researcher has tried to replicate the ideas and findings of various researches that has been done earlier in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Knowledge society, Information and development.

This paper is representing the broader outlook of Information Communication Technology as an appropriate medium for making a knowledge society, to update the society with the latest information and most importantly in bringing the spirit of development and in empowering the lives of the common individuals of the society. Scope of the study• The scope of this particular study is focusing on the field

of ICT in relation to knowledge society, information and development.

• In which way ICT is playing the role of an emerging medium in making knowledge based society, an informed society and most importantly in building a developed society which will be based on knowledge and information.

• It is also keeping an eye on how ICT is bringing positive changes into the lives of the common individuals of the society for the betterment and well being purpose.

Rational For The Study:• For this particular study the research questions have

arisen because it is having a clear-cut motto and theoretical basis that in present context of human life, ICT is playing an indispensible role in most of the cluster of human life.

• ICT is present in almost all activities of the society, the existence of ICT has made the life of 21st century much easier than ever.

• ICT is playing a dominating role in various fields like education, development and information. And as a result it is doing lot of changes or lot of positive changes are taking place in the society due to the high emergence of ICT)

ICT, Knowledge & Knowledge Society:

• The dictionary meaning of knowledge is “the psychological result of perception and learning and reasoning” and the psychological result of perception and learning and reasoning gives more scopes for better learning experiences which will lead to have more knowledge over various things.

• A knowledge based society is the society where most of the things of life are driven by the Information Communication Technology (ICT) likewise innovation, research, development and growth as well.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) & Information:

• 21st century is otherwise known as the age of information and we all are surrounded by various pieces of information by every walk of our life.

• After the emergence of ICT it has become easier on the part of the individuals of the society to gain various important pieces of information within an easier way.

• Due to ICT lot of advancement has taken place in the field of information and lot of new medium and avenues re coming to the market at a daily basis through which an individuals can have access to the desired piece of information.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) & Development:

• Development is a process of getting prosperity in relation to lifestyle and income level or personal satisfaction. Development is a positive connotation which represents the positive change.

• And ICT is encouraging for attaining the desired level of development by fostering various policies and forums at a rapid pace. And knowledge society and information is the base for bringing development spirit to the society and these are the foundation for development as well.

Conclusion• In the field of ICT also lots of changes are taking place

and due to the changes it is becoming more effective in its operations and functions.

• ICT is complex and it is quite hard for few people to understand the rapid changes which are talking place in the field of ICT but it is a well known fact that everyone has some amount of understanding of it as well.

• ICT is a transpiring and emerging medium which is assisting in making a knowledge based society and informed society by implementing various plans and forums in a very particular manner for the sole purpose of development and prosperity of thee common masses of the society.
