Click on the “BRIGHTNESS” icon to increase and decrease the brightness. A lower brightness will save more battery.
Click on the “GPS” icon to turn the GPS system on and off. Make sure GPS is OFF before conducting the survey.

An AfSIS vehicle and driver will take enumerators to their interview locations

General Guidelines
1. You will be late (in the morning or afternoon). We will make sure that the vehicle waits for you or returns to pick you up.
2. You will not be able to work one day.
3. Your PDA/Tablet battery is almost gone. If the battery is very low (under 15%), use the paper survey for the next survey.

4. If it is raining, the survey should be conducted indoors. When you are outside for GPS and plot measurement, please use an umbrella (to be provided).

6. Wait for the GPS to get as close as possible to the actual location (5m if possible)
7. Click on the second “RECORD LOCATION”

8. Go back to the “HOME SCREEN” and disable GPS to save battery. Return to ODK survey.

10. Using the “Distance and Area” application, take the measurement of the parking lot. (in square meters).

5. If you have only been given an indigenous name of a tree, crop or livestock, input that name in the survey. But please know what the animal is so we can find the English name!
