The inauguration of ICI Students' Chapter, Sir MVIT was held on 23rd April 2015 at

CSE Seminar hall, Sir MVIT ,Bangalore. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr.

Nagendra R, Chairman, and Indian Concrete Institute –Bangalore chapter the

function began with welcome address by Dr. B.R. Karnure, Professor& Head,

Department of Civil Engineering.

ICI Chapter was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Ms Ramya N, Assistant Professor,

Civil Dept explained about the various activities of Indian Concrete Institute.

Introduction of Chief Guest Dr. Nagendra R, was done by Prof H. Ravi Kumar, Dept

of Civil Engineering. Mrs. Pradeepa, Asst Prof, Introduced the Guest Speaker Dr. V.

Ramachandra, Vice president, Ultratech Cement Limited.

The Chief Guest Dr. Nagendra R gave the inaugural address and encouraged the

students to equip themselves with field knowledge and become ethical Civil Engineers

in the future. The certificates of ICI student chapter were distributed to the student

members.

Dr. V. Ramachandra presented a Ultra Tech Endowment Guest lecture On

“Opportunities and Challenges in Civil Engineering”. The positive negative impacts of

concrete Technology on the environment, economy and society were explained with

statistical illustrations. Also explained the various modern types of concrete.

certificates & cash prize for scoring highest marks in 4th SEM concrete technology

SACT 2015 @ BMSIT

One day National Conferenceon Saturday, 25th APRIL 2015

A One day National Conference on “Sustainability& Advances in Concrete

Technology-SACT-2015” was organized by the BMSIT, Department of Civil

Engineering, Bangalore, In Association with ICI – Bangalore on 25th April 2015. Six

technical sessions on sustainable practices in concrete construction and technology

were delivered by expert speakers from Industries and Academic field. Researches,

Post graduate students, industry professionals from different colleges in and around

Bangalore participated to make this a successful event.
