Overall this was a very worthwhile and thought-provoking day and we await the completed theses with eager anticipation. On this showing we can look forward to major new concerns for historical geography in Britain over the next few years. Oxford Polytechnic STEPHEN V. WARD ICHG '89: The Seventh International Conference of Historical Geographers Arrangements are being made to hold the Seventh International Conference of Historical Geographers in Israel from 23-31 July 1989. The meeting will focus upon "Ideology and landscape in historical perspective" but there will be other sessions on subjects within the framework of historical geography. The Confer- ence will be held in Jerusalem and there will be field excursions to other parts of Israel. Those interested in participating are invited to contact Dr D. Gavish, Department of Geography, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem 91905, Israel.
