ICC Heavy LiftDescription: The Sydney ICC (International Convention Centre) heavy lift was completed for Lendlease for the Darling Harbour Live consortium's upgrade of theDarling Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre Precinct.

The full project encompasses a 2.5 Billion Dollar upgrade to the area including construction of new exhibition halls, convention centre, theatre andpublic realm replacing the existing convention and exhibition facilities.

Judged as Australia's Best Infrastructure Project in 2017, the ICC Sydney is the biggest combined exhibition, convention and entertainment precinct in

Australia, and was successfully delivered on budget, ahead of schedule.

Key Aspects: Freyssinet was contracted to perform a heavy lift on the exhibition halls steel truss roof. The roof was a 3000T steel truss structurethat was designed by Robert Bird Group, fabricated by Hyundai Steel and assembled on site by DME Engineering.The roof has a 102m clear span and is 140m wide. The original plan was to lift the full roof in one, however on client request the lift was split into twoindependent lifts (1200T and 1800T). Print Friendly: Link
