OUR SCHOOL
Cles is a village in the North of Italy , near the town of Trento.
Our school is a modern building with many useful labs, a big sports hall, a
comfortable auditorium, cooking facilities and a canteen.
There is a middle school for students from 11 to 14 and three different buildings for elementary pupils.
We have about 800 students and 100 teachers.
School System in Italy
• 3-5 years old: Kindergarten• 6-11: Elementary School• 11-14: Middle School• 14-19: High School (compulsory until
16)• 20 - … : University (not compulsory)
Our school day
• At middle school we have 5 hours in the morning, from Monday to Saturday.
• We start at 7:50, then we have a break of 15 minutes and we finish at 12:55.
• Pupils at primary school have afternoon classes, so they have lunch in the school canteen and they finish at 16 every day because they don't have school on Saturdays.
Marks
• Our grading system has 6 levels, from unsatisfactory to excellent.
• At the end of middle school students take a compulsory exam and they are assessed with a mark from 6 to 10.

Cooking
School-trips
Usually every class goes on school trips during the school year. In the first class they go on a one- day trip;in the second year they also go on a three-day-winter holiday to learn or improve how to ski; in the third class they visit historic places in Italy and they spend one week in Malta to attend an English course.
Holidays
School generally begins around 10th September and ends around 10th of June. Students usually go to school from Monday to Saturday. Bank holidays are:
• 1st November → All Saints• 8 th December → Holy Virgin• Christmas Holidays→ from 23th December till 6th
January• Easter Holidays→ generally at the end of March or the
beginning of April• 1st May→ Labour Day• 2nd June→ Republic Day• From 10th June till 10th September→ Summer
