Introdução

Parabéns pela compra do seu aparelho novo.Decidiu-se, assim, por um produto de elevada quali-dade. O manual de instruções é constituinte desteproduto. Este contém indicações importantes paraa segurança, utilização e eliminação. Antes da utili-zação do produto, famializa-se com todas as indi-cações de utilização e de segurança. Utilize o pro-duto apenas como descrito e nas áreas de aplicaçãoindicadas. Guarde bem este manual. Ao entregar oaparelho a terceiros entregue todos os documentos.

Utilização correcta

O aparelho destina-se à ligação a uma tomada deisqueiro de 12 V ou a uma bateria de automóvel eà emissão de tensão alternada de 220 - 240 Vpara a ligação de aparelhos eléctricos com fichaeuropeia e um consumo de energia de até 300 W.Também podem ser carregados na entrada USBaparelhos que sejam operados a bateria e possuaminterface USB, por ex. leitor de MP3.O aparelho não foi concebido para utilização emáreas industriais ou comerciais.A garantia não cobre danos resultantes de uma utilização incorrecta do aparelho!

Atenção!Os aparelhos com um sistema electrónico maissensível não devem ser utilizados com o trans-formador de tensão, uma vez que a tensão desaída destes aparelhos não é suficientementeconstante.

Indicações de segurança

• Este aparelho não deve ser utilizado por pessoas(inclusive crianças) com limitações das capaci-dades físicas, sensoriais ou mentais ou falta deexperiência e/ou de conhecimento do mesmo, a não ser que seja efectuada uma vigilância poruma pessoa responsável pela sua segurança ouque recebam instruções acerca do funcionamentodo aparelho. As crianças devem ser supervisio-nadas, de modo a garantir que não brincamcom o aparelho.

• De modo a evitar perigos, antes da utilização e de efectuar a limpeza do transformador detensão, retire a ficha da tomada de bordo ou os bornes de ligação da bateria do carro.

• Ligue o transformador de tensão à bateria doautomóvel, apenas quando o motor está desli-gado! Existe perigo de ferimentos através daspeças rotativas!

• Verifique o aparelho e todas as peças quanto a danos visíveis. O conceito de segurança doaparelho funciona apenas no estado impecável.

• O transformador de tensão deve estar semprebem acessível para que seja possível desligá-lorapidamente da corrente eléctrica em caso deemergência.

Perigo de choque eléctrico!• Ligue o transformador de tensão apenas a uma

bateria de automóvel/uma tensão de bordo de12 V. Se o aparelho for ligado a uma tensão de24 V, pode ficar danificado.

• Ao ligar o transformador de tensão através deuma ficha de isqueiro de 12 V para automóvel,certifique-se de que a polaridade da ficha estáem conformidade com a polaridade da tomadade bordo. A tomada de bordo tem de ter umapolaridade interior positiva, i. e. o pólo positivoda bateria de automóvel não deve estar ligadoao chassis do veículo.

• Antes de ligar o transformador verifique se a toma-da de bordo está suficientemente isolada. Este isola-mento não pode mudado de local ou alterado

• Utilize apenas o cabo de ligação fornecido!• No caso de danos, a ficha, bornes de ligação

ou cabo devem ser imediatamente substituídospor técnicos autorizados ou pela AssistênciaTécnica, de modo a evitar perigos.

• Mande imediatamente reparar ou substituir, pelo serviço de apoio ao cliente, cabos de ligaçãoou aparelhos danificados, que não funcionemna perfeição ou que tenham sido danificados.

• Não deve abrir ou reparar a estrutura do apa-relho. Nesse caso a segurança não é asseguradae a garantia extingue-se.

• Nunca mergulhe o aparelho em água. Limpe-oapenas com um pano levemente humedecido.

O aparelho é adequado apenas para o usoem espaços interiores.

Perigo de incêndio!• Não utilize o aparelho próximo de superfícies

quentes. • Não coloque o aparelho em locais em que fique

sujeito à exposição directa de raios solares. Estepoderia sobreaquecer e ficar irreparavelmentedanificado. Não utilize o aparelho dentro deum automóvel que se encontra ao sol.

• Nunca deixe o aparelho sem vigilância duranteo seu funcionamento.

• Não cubra as aberturas de ventilação do venti-lador, quando o aparelho está ligado.

• Não coloque quaisquer fontes de incêndio,como p.ex. velas, sobre o aparelho.

• Os cabos de ligação podem aquecer no casode sobrecarga.

• Devido às elevadas resistências de passagem,pode acontecer que a conexão de fichaaqueça, ao utilizar o cabo com a ficha de isqueirode 12 V para automóvel. Por isso, no caso defuncionamento com cargas elevadas, não utilizeo cabo de ligação com os bornes de ligação.

Indicação relativa à desconexãoda rede

• O interruptor Ligar/Desligar deste aparelho nãoo desliga totalmente da rede de bordo ou dabateria. Com a ficha de isqueiro para automóvelintroduzida, o aparelho continua a consumirenergia. Para desligar o aparelho totalmente da rede de bordo, é necessário retirar a fichade isqueiro de 12 V para automóvel da tomadade bordo ou retirar os bornes de ligação dabateria do automóvel.

Perigo de ferimentos!• Se o aparelho tiver caído ou se encontrar danifi-

cado, não o deve voltar a colocar em funciona-mento. O aparelho deve ser verificado por umtécnico especializado e, se necessário, reparado.

Indicações relativas ao funcionamento

Para o funcionamento contínuo de aparelhos atravésdo transformador de tensão é necessário que existana tomada de bordo uma tensão entre 11 - 15,5 V

. A fonte de tensão da tomada de bordo podeser uma bateria de automóvel ou uma alimentaçãode corrente contínua como, p ex. uma estação debateria. Antes de ligar o transformador de tensão,verifique se a fonte de tensão fornece energia sufi-ciente para o funcionamento do aparelho. A energianecessária para o funcionamento do aparelhopode ser calculada do seguinte modo:

Exemplo

A fonte de tensão deveria fornecer pelo menos30,5 A, para uma carga contínua de 300 W.

Nota:As tomadas de isqueiro de 12 V fornecem nomáximo 15 A, por isso o conversor de tensãodeve ser directamente ligado a uma bateria deautomóvel através dos terminais. Apenas destaforma é possível atingir uma potência contínuade 300 W.

Atenção!Nunca ligue o transformador de tensão a umarede de bordo de 24 V. O aparelho fica danifi-cado. O aparelho apenas pode ser ligado auma fonte de tensão com uma tensão nominalcom uma 12 V.

numa superfície plana e sem irregularidades.Certifique-se de que existe 1 m de espaço livreem torno do transformador de tensão, paraassegurar a circulação do ar.

• Atrás das aberturas de ventilação do ventilador qtem de ser mantida uma distância de 50 cm.

Funcionamento num veículoSe utilizar o transformador de tensão num veículo,certifique-se de que a instalação não o prejudica em termos de condução. Por isso, disponha os cabos de forma a que estesnão entrem em contacto com as peças com movi-mento do carro nem prejudiquem a visibilidade.

Nota:O transformador de tensão também pode serutilizado com o motor desligado. No entanto,tenha em atenção que o transformador de ten-são pode não funcionar durante o processo dearranque.

Ligação a uma fonte de tensão

Atenção!Antes de ligar o transformador de tensão auma fonte de tensão, certifique-se de que ointerruptor Ligar/Desligar e do aparelho seencontra na posição 0.

Pode ligar o transformador de tensão com a fichade 12 V a uma tomada de bordo de 12 V oucom os bornes de ligação , directamente a umabateria de automóvel.Os cabos de ligação têm de ser ligados às ligaçõesaparafusadas de 12 V y do regulador de tensão, em ambas as formas de ligação.

Ligação a uma tomada de isqueiro 12 V no

automóvel

Atenção!Não utilize o transformador de tensão em veícu-los cujo pólo positivo está ligado à carroçariaou ao chassis do veículo.A tomada de bordo tem de ter polarizaçãopositiva interiormente. Não utilize o transforma-dor de tensão a tomadas de isqueiro no auto-móvel que tenham uma ligação à terra positiva.O aparelho fica danificado.

• Desaperte o parafuso vermelho no transforma-dor de tensão, até conseguir colocar o terminalde cabos vermelho do cabo de 12 V de auto-móvel com a abertura por baixo do parafu-so e arruela plana. (Ver fig.: ligação do terminalde cabos)

• Aperte o parafuso vermelho firmemente, de modoa que o terminal de cabos não se possa soltar.

• Desaperte o parafuso preto no transformador de tensão, de modo a conseguir colocar o terminalde cabos preto do cabo de 12 V de automóvel

por baixo do parafuso e arruela plana.• Aperte o parafuso preto firmemente, de modo

a que o terminal de cabos não se possa soltar.• Introduza a ficha de isqueiro de 12 V para auto-

móvel numa tomada de isqueiro no automóvel.C

Nota:Devido às elevadas resistências de passagem,pode acontecer que a conexão da ficha aqueça,ao utilizar um cabo com ficha de isqueiro de 12 V para automóvel . Por isso, no caso de fun-cionamento com cargas elevadas, não utilize ocabo de ligação com os bornes de ligação .

Ligação a uma bateria de automóvel

• Desaperte o parafuso vermelho no transformadorde tensão, até conseguir colocar o terminal decabos vermelho do cabo vermelho com bornesde ligação com a abertura por baixo do para-fuso e arruela plana.

• Aperte o parafuso vermelho firmemente, demodo a que o terminal de cabos não se possasoltar.

• Desaperte o parafuso preto no transformadorde tensão, até conseguir colocar o terminal decabos preto do cabo preto com bornes de liga-ção com a abertura por baixo do parafuso e arruela plana.

• Aperte o parafuso preto firmemente, de modo a que o terminal de cabos não se possa soltar.

• A seguir, ligue o borne vermelho ao pólo positivoda bateria do automóvel e depois o borne pretoao pólo negativo da bateria do automóvel.

Ligação e funcionamento deuma carga/um aparelho

Atenção!Antes de ligar uma carga/um aparelho aotransformador de tensão, certifique-se de que ointerruptor Ligar/Desligar e do aparelho seencontra na posição 0.Certifique-se de que a potência da carga/doaparelho não ultrapassa a potência contínuamáxima do transformador de tensão.

• Ligue a ficha da carga a ligar/do aparelho a utilizar à tomada de 220 - 240 V r do transfor-mador de tensão.

Atenção!No entanto, não ligue a carga/aparelho a utilizar!

• Ligue o transformador de tensão, colocando ointerruptor Ligar/Desligar e na posição I. OLED de funcionamento/a indicação de sobrecar-ga w acende a verde, se o transformador detensão estiver a funcionar sem problemas.

• Ligue agora a carga/o aparelho a utilizar. Ao ligar, ouve-se um breve sinal de aviso.

Nota:Se se ouvir um sinal de aviso e o LED de funcio-namento/a indicação de sobrecarga w acende avermelho, a tensão de entrada é demasiado re-duzida ou a potência da carga/do aparelho li-gado ao transformador de tensão é demasiadoelevada.

Indicações relativas ao funcio-namento de aparelhos

Indicações geraisNormalmente encontra na chapa de identificaçãodos aparelho, dados acerca do consumo de cor-rente em Amperes (A) ou o consumo de energia em Watts (W).Antes da utilização, certifique-se de que o consumomáximo de corrente não é superior as 1,3 A a potên-cia contínua não excede os 300 W.• As cargas com uma elevada resistência interna

podem ser utilizadas sem problemas através dotransformador de tensão, aos contrário das cargascom uma resistência interna reduzia, como p. ex.aquecedores e aparelhos de cozinha, têm umconsumo de potência em Watts demasiado elevado.

• As cargas indutivas, como p. ex. televisores ouaparelhos estéreo (aparelhos com uma bobinaou um transformador) exigem frequentementeuma corrente de conexão muito mais elevadado que as cargas de resistência com o mesmoconsumo de energia indicado em Watts. Ao se-rem ligados, os televisores exigem um consumode energia maior do que o indicado na chapade identificação. Neste caso pode ser necessá-rio ligar e desligar o transformador de tensãovárias vezes, para conseguir ligar um televisor.

• Em caso de dúvida consulte o fabricante doaparelho conectado.

Sinal no caso de bateria fraca

• Em caso de tensão de bateria reduzida (inferiora 11 V), soa um sinal de aviso, para indicar quea bateria deveria ser carregada. O LED de funcionamento/a indicação de sobrecarga

w acende a verde .• Se a tensão da bateria descer para menos de

10 V, o transformador de tensão desliga-se e oLED de funcionamento/a indicação de sobrecarga

w acende a vermelho.

Carregar aparelho USB

Atenção!Antes de ligar, certifique-se de que o consumodo aparelho USB é inferior a 500 mA. Podeencontrar informações detalhadas no manualde instruções do seu aparelho USB.

• Introduza a ficha USB do aparelho na entradaUSB t do conversor de tensão.

• Se necessário, ligue o aparelho USB.

Nota:A tomada 220-240 V r e a entrada USB tpodem ser utilizadas em simultâneo.

Substituição do fusível

Perigo de morte devido a choqueeléctrico:

Antes de substituir o fusível, desligue o transformadorde tensão da alimentação de corrente. Retire tambémo aparelho ligado ao transformador de tensão.

Substitua o fusível por outro equivalente ao tipo indicado nos dados técnicos, com as mesmas características de desactivação.Antes de voltar a ligar o conversor de tensão, repa-re o motivo pelo qual o fusível disparou.

Para substituir o fusível proceda da seguinte forma:• Desaperte o parafuso no porta-fusíveis u com a

ajuda de uma chave de fendas em cruz.• Abra a cobertura do porta-fusíveis u e retire o

fusível chato para veículos do seu suporte.• Coloque um fusível chato de 40 A para veículos

novo (fornecido) em ambas as entradas e voltea colocar a cobertura do porta-fusíveis u.

• Volte a apertar o parafuso no porta-fusíveis u.

Resolução de avarias gerais

Televisores• O transformador de tensão é blindado e emite

uma onda sinusoidal filtrada. Em caso de recepção de, p. ex., emissoras de televisão com sinal muito fraco, podem acontecerinterferências ou anomalias na imagem.

• Neste caso, posicione o transformador de tensãoo mais afastado possível do televisor, cabo daantena e antena.

• Direccione o transformador de tensão, o televisor,o cabo da antena e a antena uns para os outros,até a recepção melhorar.

• Se possível, utilize um cabo de antena de altaqualidade, blindado.

Sistemas áudio• Alguns sistemas áudio/vídeo emitem um som de

interferência através das colunas, quando estasestão em funcionamento através do transformadorde tensão. Isto deve-se ao facto destes aparelhosnão terem capacidade de filtrar a onda sinusoidalmodificada e não a um defeito do transformadorde tensão.

Eliminação de avarias

Tensão de saída reduzida

Possíveis motivos e ajuda:

• O transformador de tensão está sobrecarregado.Diminua a carga, até esta deixar de exceder acarga máxima indicada nos dados técnicos.

• A tensão de entrada é inferior a 11 V. Man-tenha a tensão de entrada do transformador de tensão acima dos 11 V, de modo a manter apotência de saída constante.

O sinal de aviso de tensão da bateriareduzida não pára.


• A bateria está avariada. Substitua a bateria.• Alimentação de tensão ou de corrente insuficien-

te. Verifique o estado da tomada de bordo e daficha de isqueiro de 12 V para automóvel e,se necessário, limpe-as.

Sem potência de saída


• O transformador de tensão não aqueceu total-mente. Ligue e desligue o transformador de tensão,até o aparelho ligado ao transformador de tensãoser alimentado com corrente. Repita este processo,para conseguir ligar o aparelho.

• A ignição tem de estar ligada, de modo a que atomada de bordo seja alimentada com corrente.Ligue a ignição, na posição I.

• O transformador de tensão está sobrecarregado.Diminua a carga, até esta deixar de exceder acarga máxima indicada nos dados técnicos.

• O transformador de tensão sobreaqueceu.Aguarde, até o aparelho ter arrefecido. Certifique--se de que existe uma distância de ventilaçãosuficiente. Certifique-se de que a carga ligadanão ultrapassa a carga máxima continuamente, para evitar um novo sobrequecimento.

• O fusível do aparelho queimou. Entre em contactocom a assistência técnica e solicite a reparaçãodo aparelho. Certifique-se de que o transformadorde tensão está ligado à alimentação de correntecom a polaridade correcta.

• O fusível do cabo queimou. Substitua o fusíveldo cabo, tal como descrito no capítulo "Substituiro fusível do cabo". Certifique-se de que o transformador de tensãoestá ligado à alimentação de corrente com apolaridade correcta.

Limpeza

Perigo de morte devido a choqueeléctrico:• Nunca mergulhe as peças do aparelho em

água ou outros líquidos!

• Não deixe que entrem líquidos na caixa.

• Antes de efectuar a limpeza, retire o transfor-mador de tensão da tomada de isqueiro noautomóvel/ retire os bornes de ligação da bate-ria do automóvel. Retire também o aparelho ligado ao transformador de tensão.

Limpeza da parte exteriorLimpe a superfície da caixa com um pano levementehumedecido. Nunca utilize gasolina, solventes oudetergentes corrosivos, uma vez que estes podemdanificar o aparelho!Se as fendas de ventilação estiverem com pó, limpe--as com um pincel suave.

Eliminação

Eliminar o aparelhoNunca deite o aparelho no lixo domésticonormal. Este produto está em conformi-dade com a directiva europeia2002/96/EC.

Elimine o aparelho através de um serviço deeliminação autorizado ou das entidades deeliminação locais.Preste atenção às prescrições actuais válidas. Emcaso de dúvida entre em contacto com a entidadede eliminação de resíduos.

Eliminar a embalagemElimine todos os materiais da embalagemde forma ecológica.

Intended Use

The device is intended for connection to a 12 V vehicle power socket or a car battery and an outputof 220 - 240 V AC, for the connection of electricaldevices with Euro plug and a power consumption of up to 300 Watts. In addition, battery-powered devices with a USB interface e.g. MP3 Players, canbe charged from the USB port.The device is not intended for commercial or industrial purposes.No guarantee claims will be granted for damageresulting from improper use!

Attention!Sensitive electronic devices should not be ope-rated with the power inverter since the outputvoltage is not sufficiently constant for these devices.

Safety information

• This device is not intended for use by individuals(including children) with restricted physical, physio-logical or intellectual abilities or deficiences inexperience and/or knowledge unless they aresupervised by a person responsible for their safetyor receive from this person instruction in how the

device is to be used. Children should be supervisedto ensure that they do not play with the device.

• To avoid dangers remove the power inverter fromthe vehicle receptacle and/or the connection ter-minals from the automotive battery after eachuse and before every cleaning.

Risk of electrical shocks.• Connect the power inverter only to a 12 V auto-

motive battery/vehicle receptacle. Connectingthe device to a 24 V supply could damage it.

• When connecting the power inverter via the 12 Vvehicle plug make sure that the polarity of thevehicle plug matches the polarity of the in vehiclereceptacle. The vehicle socket must have an inter-nal positive pole, that is to say that the positive poleof a vehicle battery cannot be connected to thechassis of the vehicle.

• Check before connecting the power inverter thatthe vehicle receptacle is sufficiently secured. Thissafeguard may not in any way be circumventedor changed.

• Use the supplied connecting cable only.• Arrange for defective plugs, connection terminals or

cable to be replaced at once by qualified techni-cians or our Customer Service Department.

• Get customer service to repair or replace connectingcables and/or devices that are not functioningproperly or have been damaged.

• You may not open the casing or repair the deviceyourself. Should you do so, the safety of thedevice may be compromised and the warrantybecomes void.

• NEVER submerse the device in water. Wipe it only with a slightly damp cloth.

Notice regarding disconnectionfrom mains-power

• This device's on/off switch does not completelydisconnect the device from the vehicle's powerand/or the battery. When the vehicle plug isconnected power is still supplied to the device.To completely disconnect the device from the vehicle power the 12 V vehicle plug must be re-moved from the vehicle socket or the connectionterminals removed from the automobile battery.

Operational information

For continuous operation of devices via the powerinverter the vehicle socket must supply a voltagebetween 11 - 15,5 V . The voltage source ofthe vehicle socket can be perhaps an automotivebattery or a regulated DC voltage like a transformer-accumulator station. Before connecting the powerinverter check to see that the voltage source is supplyingsufficient power for operation. The required powerneeded for operation can be calculated as follows:

The voltage source should provide for a continuousload of 300 W and also for a minimum of 30,5 A.

Note:12 V vehicle power sockets supply max. 15 A,therefore the voltage transformer must be con-nected directly to the terminals of a car batterywith the clamps. Only in this way can 300 Wcontinuous power be achieved.

Attention!Never connect the power inverter to a 24 Vsupply system. Otherwise the device will be damaged. The device can only be connected toa voltage source with a rated voltage of 12 V.

Setup• The power inverter should be positioned on an

even, flat surface. Make sure that there is 1 cmfree space remaining all around the power inverterfor air circulation.

• A distance of 50 cm must be maintained behindthe fan's q ventilation slots.

In vehicle operationIf you are operating the power inverter in a vehiclemake sure that the installation is not a hindrancewhen driving the vehicle. For this, install cables so that they do not come intocontact with moveable parts in the vehicles interiorand they do not obstruct the view.

Note:The power inverter can also be operated whenthe engine is switched off. However be awarethat the power inverter possibly may not func-tion during an engine startup.

Connection to a voltage source

Attention!Before connecting the power inverter to a vol-tage source make sure that the on/off switch eon the device is in the position 0.

You can connect the power inverter with the 12 Vplug to a 12 V in vehicle receptacle or attach di-rectly to an automobile battery with the connectionterminals .For both connection variants the connection cablemust be connected to the power inverter's 12 Vconnection screw y.

Attention!Do not use the power inverter in vehicles who-se plus pole is connected to the vehicle bodyand/or the chassis.The positive pole must be inside the receptacle.Do not use the power inverter in vehicles withpositive earth receptacles. Otherwise the de-vice will be damaged.

Connection to an automobile battery

• Loosen the red screw on the power inverter asmuch as is needed for you to be able to placethe red cable shoe of the red cable with the connection terminal with the opening underthe screw and washer.

• Turn the red screw so tight that the cable shoecan no longer become unattached.

• Loosen the black screw on the power inverter asmuch as is needed for you to be able to placethe black cable shoe of the black cable with theconnection terminal with the opening underthe screw and washer.

• Turn the black screw so tight that the cable shoecan no longer become unattached.

• First connect the red terminal clamp to the pluspole of the automobile battery and then theblack terminal clamp to the minus pole of thebattery.

Connection and operation of aload/device

Attention!Before connecting a load/device to the power in-verter make sure that the on/off switch e onthe device is in the position 0.Make sure that the power of the load/devicedoes not exceed the maximum continuous load ofthe power inverter.

• Insert the plug of the connecting load/the deviceto be operated into the 220 - 240 V socket rof the power inverter.

Attention!Do not switch on the load/device to be operated yet!

• Switch the power inverter on by moving the on/offswitch e to the position I. If the power inverter is functioning properly the operation LED/Over-load indicator w will light up green.

• Now switch on the load/device to be operated.When switched on a short signal tone can beheard.

Note:If a signal tone can be heard and the operationLED/ Overload indicator w lights up red the input voltage is too low or the power of theload/device connected to the power inverter is too high.

Device operation information

General notesUsually on the device's rating plate you can find information regarding the power consumption inamperes (A) or the wattage (W).Before operation make sure that the maximum powerconsumption does not exceed 1,3 A and the maxi-mum continuous load is not more than 300 W.• Loads with a high internal resistance operate

very well with the power inverter, on the otherhand, loads with a low internal resistance, forexample heating and cooking devices have apower consumption in watts that is too high.

• Inductive loads, for example, televisions or stereosystems (devices with an inductor or a transformer)often require a much greater switch on currentthan resistance loads with the same specifiedwattage. When switching on, television setsdemand much more power than that indicatedon the rating plate. Therefore it may be necessaryto switch the power inverter on and off several times in order to switch the television set on.

• In the event of uncertainty, please consult themanufacturer of the connected appliance.

Low battery signal

• When the battery runs low (under 11 V) a conti-nuous signal tone sounds to indicate that the bat-tery needs to be charged. The operationLED/Overload indicator w continues to light upgreen.

• When the battery voltage drops below 10 V thepower inverter switches off and the operationLED/Overload indicator w lights up red.

Charging the USB device

Attention!Before connecting, check to ensure that the power consumption of the USB device is nothigher than 500 mA. Further information is tobe found in the operating manual for your USB device.

• Plug the USB connector of the USB device to theUSB port t of the voltage converter.

• If necessary, switch the USB device on.

Note:The 220-240 V power socket r and the USBconnector t can be used simultaneously.

Exchanging the Fuse

Risk of potentially fatal electricalshock:Disconnect the power inverter from the powersource before changing the fuse. Also removeany devices connected to the power inverter.

Replace the fuse with an equivalent type in regardto the specified technical data and with the sameshut-off characteristics.Before switching on and resuming operations withthe voltage converter, establish the cause for thetriggering of the fuse.

To exchange the fuse, proceed as follows:• Loosen the screw on the fuse holder u using a

Phillips screwdriver.• Open the cover of the fuse holder u and pull

the flat car fuse from the holder.• Install a new 40 A flat car-type fuse (supplied)

into the two connectors and replace the coveronto the fuse holder u.

• Firmly screw the screw on the fuse holder uback in.

Handling general failures

Television sets• The power inverter is shielded and puts out a

filtered sine wave. With the reception of, for example, very weak television stations it can, nevertheless, result ininterferences and/or image breakdown.

• In this case position the power inverter as faraway as possible from the television, antennacable and antenna.

• Reposition the power inverter, television, antenna cable and antenna until reception improves.

• If possible use a high quality, shielded antennacable.

Audio systems• Some audio/video systems issue a buzzing tone

through the speaker when they are being operatedvia the power inverter. The reason for this is thatthese devices can not filter the modified sinewave of the power inverter and this is not adefect in the power inverter.

Troubleshooting

Low output voltage

Possible cause and remedy:

• The power inverter is overloaded. Reduce theload until you no longer exceed the maximumload as specified in the technical data.

• The input voltage is below 11 V. Maintain the in-put voltage of the power inverter above 11 Vto keep the output voltage constant.

Low battery voltage signal soundscontinually


• The battery is defective. Replace the battery.• Insufficient voltage or power supply. Check the

condition of the in vehicle receptacle and the 12 V vehicle plug and if necessary clean these.

No output power


• The power inverter is not fully warmed up.Switch the power inverter on and off again untilthe device attached to the power inverter issupplied with power. Repeat this process in orderto switch the device on.

• The ignition must be switched on for the in vehiclereceptacle to be supplied with power. Switch theignition on and/or in the position I.

• The power inverter is overloaded. Reduce theload until you no longer exceed the maximumload as specified in the technical data.

• The power inverter is overheated. Wait until thedevice has cooled down. Ensure that there issufficient ventilation space. Make sure that theconnected load does not continually exceed themaximum load, in order to avoid overheatingagain.

• The device fuse is burnt out. Consult the servicedepartment in order to put the device back intoworking condition. Make sure that the power in-verter is connected to the power supply with thecorrect polarity.

• The cable fuse is burnt out. Change the cablefuse as described in the chapter "Changing thecable fuse". Make sure that the power inverter is connectedto the power supply with the correct polarity.

Cleaning

Risk of potentially fatal electricalshock:

• Never submerse the device in water or other liquids!

• Do not allow any liquids to penetrate the housing.

• Before every cleaning remove the power inver-ter from the vehicle receptacle/remove the connec-tion terminals from the automobile battery. Also re-move any devices connected to the powerinverter.

Das Gerät ist für den Anschluss an eine 12 V Bord-steckdose oder eine Autobatterie und zur Ausgabevon 220 - 240 V Wechselspannung für den Anschlussvon Elektrogeräten mit Eurostecker und einer Leistungs-aufnahme bis 300 W bestimmt. Zusätzlich könnenakkubetriebene Geräte mit USB-Schnittstelle, z. B.MP3-Player, am USB-Anschluss aufgeladen werden. Das Gerät ist nicht zur Verwendung in gewerblichenoder industriellen Bereichen vorgesehen.Für Schäden, die aus nicht bestimmungsgemäßemGebrauch des Geräts resultieren, wird keine Gewähr-leistung übernommen!

Gefahr durch elektrischen Schlag!• Schließen Sie den Spannungswandler nur an

eine 12 V Autobatterie/Bordspannung an. BeimAnschluss an eine 24 V Spannung kann das Gerät beschädigt werden.

• Achten Sie beim Anschluss des Spannungswand-lers über den 12 V Kfz-Stecker darauf, dass diePolarität des Kfz-Steckers mit der Polarität derBordsteckdose übereinstimmt. Die Bordsteckdosemuss innen positiv gepolt sein, d. h. der Pluspoleiner Fahrzeugbatterie darf nicht an das Chassisdes Fahrzeugs angeschlossen sein.

• Prüfen Sie vor dem Anschluss des Wandlers, obdie Bordsteckdose ausreichend abgesichert ist.Diese Absicherung darf auf keinen Fall umgangenoder verändert werden.

• Verwenden Sie nur die mitgelieferten Anschluss-kabel!

• Lassen Sie beschädigte Stecker, Anschlussklemmenoder Kabel sofort von autorisiertem Fachpersonaloder dem Kundenservice austauschen, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.

• Lassen Sie Anschlussleitungen bzw. Geräte, dienicht einwandfrei funktionieren oder beschädigt

wurden, sofort vom Kundendienst reparierenoder austauschen.

• Sie dürfen das Gerätegehäuse nicht öffnen oderreparieren. In diesem Falle ist die Sicherheit nichtgegeben und die Gewährleistung erlischt.

• Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser ein.Wischen Sie es nur mit einem leicht feuchtenTuch ab.

Das Gerät ist nur für die Verwendung in Innenräumen geeignet.

Brandgefahr!• Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von

heißen Oberflächen. • Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht an Orten auf, die

direkter Sonnenstrahlung ausgesetzt sind. Andernfalls kann es überhitzen und irreparabelbeschädigt werden. Betreiben Sie das Gerätnicht in einem in der Sonne stehenden Fahrzeug.

• Die beiden Anschlusskabel können sich bei hoher Belastung erwärmen.

• Aufgrund der hohen Übergangswiderständekann es bei der Verwendung des Kabels mit 12 V Kfz-Stecker zur Erwärmung der Steckver-bindung kommen. Verwenden Sie daher bei Betrieb mit hohen Lasten das Anschlusskabel mit den Anschlussklemmen.

Hinweis zur Netztrennung• Der Ein-/Ausschalter dieses Geräts trennt das

Gerät nicht vollständig vom Bordnetz bzw. derBatterie. Das Gerät nimmt bei angeschlossenemKfz-Stecker Strom auf. Um das Gerät vollständigvom Bordnetz zu trennen, muss der 12 V Kfz-Stecker aus der Bordsteckdose gezogen/die Anschlussklemmen von der Autobatterie entferntwerden.

Hinweise zum Betrieb

Für den kontinuierlichen Betrieb von Geräten überden Spannungswandler, muss an der Bordsteckdoseeine Spannung zwischen 11 - 15,5 V anliegen.Die Spannungsquelle der Bordsteckdose kann etwaeine Fahrzeugbatterie oder eine geregelte Gleich-stromversorgung wie etwa eine Akkustation sein.Prüfen Sie vor dem Anschluss des Spannungswandlers,ob die Spannungsquelle ausreichend Strom für denBetrieb liefert. Der für den Betrieb erforderlicheStrom kann wie folgt berechnet werden:

Die Spannungsquelle sollte für eine Dauerlast von300 W also mindestens 30,5 A liefern.

Hinweis:12 V Bordsteckdosen liefern max. 15 A, dahermuss der Spannungswandler mit den Anschlussklemmen direkt an eine Autobatterieangeschlossen werden. Nur so können die 300 W Dauerleistung erreicht werden.

Achtung!Schließen Sie den Spannungswandler niemalsan ein 24 V Bordnetz an. Das Gerät wird an-sonsten beschädigt. Das Gerät darf nur an eineSpannungsquelle mit einer Nennspannung von12 V angeschlossen werden.

Aufstellen• Der Spannungswandler sollte auf einer ebenen

und flachen Oberfläche positioniert werden.Stellen Sie sicher, dass um den Spannungswandler1 cm freier Raum für die Luftzirkulation verbleibt.

• Hinter den Lüftungsschlitzen des Lüfters q mussein Abstand von 50 cm eingehalten werden.

Betrieb in einem FahrzeugWenn Sie den Spannungswandler in einem Fahrzeugbetreiben, stellen Sie sicher, dass die Installation Sienicht bei den Fahraufgaben behindert. Verlegen Sie daher Kabel so, dass sie nicht mit be-weglichen Teilen des Fahrzeuginnenraums in Berüh-rung kommen oder die Sicht behindern können.

Hinweis:Der Spannungswandler kann auch bei ausgeschal-tetem Motor betrieben werden. Beachten Sie je-doch, dass der Spannungswandler eventuell wäh-rend eines Startvorgangs nicht funktioniert.

Anschluss an eine Spannungsquelle

Achtung!Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Anschluss desSpannungswandlers an eine Spannungsquelle,dass der Ein-/Ausschalter e des Geräts in der Position 0 steht.

Sie können den Spannungswandler mit dem 12 VStecker an eine 12 V Bordsteckdose anschließenoder mit den Anschlussklemmen direkt an eine Autobatterie anklemmen.Für beide Anschlussvarianten müssen die Anschluss-kabel an die 12 V Schraubanschlüsse y des Spannungsreglers angeschlossen werden.

Anschluss an eine 12 V Kfz-Steckdose

Achtung!Verwenden Sie den Spannungswandler nicht inFahrzeugen, deren Pluspol mit der Fahrzeugka-rosserie bzw. dem Chassis verbunden ist.Die Bordsteckdose muss innen positiv gepoltsein. Verwenden Sie den Spannungswandlernicht an Kfz-Steckdosen, die positiv geerdetsind. Das Gerät wird ansonsten beschädigt.

• Lösen Sie die rote Schraube am Spannungs-wandler soweit, dass Sie den roten Kabelschuhdes 12 V Kfz-Kabels mit der Öffnung unterSchraube und Unterlegscheibe legen können.(Siehe Abb.: Anschluss Kabelschuh)

• Drehen Sie die rote Schraube so fest, dass sichder Kabelschuh nicht mehr lösen kann.

• Lösen Sie die schwarze Schraube am Spannungs-wandler soweit, dass Sie den schwarzen Kabel-schuh des 12 V Kfz-Kabels mit der Öffnung un-ter Schraube und Unterlegscheibe legen können.

• Drehen Sie die schwarze Schraube so fest, dasssich der Kabelschuh nicht mehr lösen kann.

• Stecken Sie den 12 V Kfz-Stecker in eine Kfz-Steckdose.

Hinweis:Aufgrund der hohen Übergangswiderständekann es bei der Verwendung des Kabels mit 12V Kfz-Stecker zur Erwärmung der Steckver-bindung kommen. Verwenden Sie daher bei Be-trieb mit hohen Lasten das Anschlusskabel mitden Anschlussklemmen .B

Anschluss an eine Autobatterie

• Lösen Sie die rote Schraube am Spannungs-wandler soweit, dass Sie den roten Kabelschuhdes roten Kabels mit Anschlussklemme mitder Öffnung unter Schraube und Unterlegscheibelegen können.

• Drehen Sie die rote Schraube so fest, dass sichder Kabelschuh nicht mehr lösen kann.

• Lösen Sie die schwarze Schraube am Span-nungswandler soweit, dass Sie den schwarzenKabelschuh des schwarzen Kabels mit Anschluss-klemme mit der Öffnung unter Schraube undUnterlegscheibe legen können.

• Drehen Sie die schwarze Schraube so fest, dasssich der Kabelschuh nicht mehr lösen kann.

• Schließen Sie zunächst die rote Klemme an denPluspol der Autobatterie an und dann dieschwarze Klemme an den Minuspol der Autobatterie.

Anschluss und Betrieb einerLast/eines Geräts

Achtung!Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Anschluss einerLast/eines Geräts an den Spannungswandler,dass der Ein-/Ausschalter e des Geräts in derPosition 0 steht.Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Leistung derLast/des Geräts nicht die maximale Dauerlei-stung des Spannungswandlers übersteigt.

• Schließen Sie den Stecker der anzuschließendenLast/des zu betreibenden Geräts an die 220 -240 V-Steckdose r des Spannungswandlers an.

Achtung!Schalten Sie jetzt noch nicht die Last/das zu betreibende Gerät ein!

• Schalten Sie den Spannungswandler ein, indemSie den Ein-/Ausschalter e in die Position I stellen.Die Betriebs-LED/Überlastanzeige w leuchtetgrün, wenn der Spannungswandler einwandfrei funktioniert.

• Schalten Sie jetzt die Last/das zu betreibendeGerät ein. Beim Einschalten ist ein kurzer Signalton zu hören.

Hinweis:Wenn ein Signalton zu hören ist und die Betriebs-LED/Überlastanzeige w rot leuchtet, ist die Eingangsspannung zu niedrig, oder die Leistungder an den Spannungswandler angeschlossenenLast/des Geräts ist zu hoch.

Hinweise zum Betrieb vonGeräten

Allgemeine HinweiseÜblicherweise finden Sie auf dem Typenschild vonGeräten eine Angabe über den Stromverbrauch inAmpere (A) oder die Leistungsaufnahme in Watt (W).Achten Sie vor dem Betrieb darauf, dass die maxi-male Stromaufnahme nicht höher als 1,3 A und diemaximale Dauerleistung nicht mehr als 300 W beträgt.• Lasten mit einem hohen Innenwiderstand können

sehr gut über den Spannungswandler betriebenwerden, Lasten mit einem niedrigen Innenwider-stand hingegen wie z. B. Heiz- und Kochgerätebesitzen eine zu hohe Leistungsaufnahme in Watt.

• Induktive Lasten, wie z. B. Fernseh- oder Stereo-geräte (Geräte mit einer Spule oder einem Trans-formator) erfordern oft einen vielfach höherenEinschaltstrom als Widerstandslasten mit der sel-ben angegebenen Leistungsaufnahme in Watt.Fernsehgeräte erfordern beim Einschalten einVielfaches der auf dem Typenschild angegebe-nen Leistungaufnahme. Hierdurch kann es erforderlich sein, den Span-nungswandler mehrmals ein- und auszuschalten,um ein Fernsehgerät einschalten zu können.

• Bei Unklarheiten halten Sie bitte Rücksprache mitdem Hersteller des angeschlossenen Gerätes.

Signal bei niedrigerBatteriespannung

• Bei niedriger Batteriespannung (unter 11 V) ertöntein durchgängiger Signalton, um anzuzeigen, dassdie Batterie geladen werden sollte. Die Betriebs-LED/Überlastanzeige w leuchtet weiterhin grün.

• Wenn die Batteriespannung unter 10 V sinkt,schaltet sich der Spannungswandler ab und dieBetriebs-LED/Überlastanzeige w leuchtet rot.

USB-Gerät laden

Achtung!Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Anschluss, dassdie Stromaufnahme des USB-Geräts nicht höher als 500 mA ist. Nähere Informationenerhalten Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung IhresUSB-Geräts.

• Stecken Sie den USB-Stecker des USB-Gerätsan den USB-Anschluss t des Spannungs-wandlers.

• Schalten Sie, falls nötig, das USB-Gerät ein.

Hinweis:Die 220-240 V Steckdose r und der USB-An-schluss t können gleichzeitig verwendet werden.

Austauschen der Sicherung

Lebensgefahr durch elektrischenSchlag:Trennen Sie vor dem Wechsel der Sicherung denSpannungswandler von der Stromversorgung.Entfernen Sie auch ein an den Spannungswand-ler angeschlossenes Gerät.

Ersetzen Sie die Sicherung durch einen gleichwerti-gen, in den technischen Daten angegebenen Typmit gleicher Abschaltcharakteristik.Stellen Sie vor einem erneuten Einschalten desSpannungswandlers die Ursache für das Auslösender Sicherung ab.

Um die Sicherung auszuwechseln, gehen Sie wiefolgt vor:• Lösen Sie die Schraube am Sicherungshalter u

mithilfe eines Kreuzschlitzschraubendrehers.• Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung des Sicherungshal-

ters u und ziehen Sie die Kfz-Flachsicherungaus der Halterung.

• Setzen Sie eine neue 40 A Kfz-Flachsicherung(mitgeliefert) in die beiden Anschlüsse und setzen Sie die Abdeckung wieder auf den Sicherungshalter u.

• Schrauben Sie die Schraube am Sicherungshal-ter u wieder fest.

Allgemeine Fehlerbehandlung

Fernsehgeräte• Der Spannungswandler ist abgeschirmt und gibt

eine gefilterte Sinuswelle aus. Beim Empfang von z. B. sehr schwachen Fern-sehsendern kann es dennoch zu Interferenzenbzw. Bildstörungen kommen.

• Positionieren Sie den Spannungswandler in die-sem Fall soweit wie möglich entfernt von Fernse-her, Antennenkabel und Antenne.

• Richten Sie den Spannungswandler, den Fernse-her, das Antennenkabel und die Antenne zuein-ander aus, bis der Empfang sich bessert.

• Verwenden Sie nach Möglichkeit ein hochwerti-ges, abgeschirmtes Antennenkabel.

Audioanlagen• Einige Audio/Videoanlagen geben einen

Brummton über die Lautsprecher aus, wenn sieüber den Spannungswandler betrieben werden.Dies liegt daran, dass diese Geräte die modifi-zierte Sinuswelle des Spannungswandlers nichtfiltern können und ist kein Defekt des Spannungswandlers.

Fehlerbehebung

Niedrige Ausgangsspannung

Mögliche Ursache und Abhilfe:

• Der Spannungswandler ist überlastet. VerringernSie die Last, bis sie die in den technischen Datenangegebene maximale Belastung nicht mehrüberschreitet.

• Die Eingangsspannung liegt unter 11 V. HaltenSie die Eingangsspannung des Spannungswand-lers über 11 V, um die Ausgangsleistung kon-stant zu halten.

Signal für niedrige Batteriespannungertönt immer wieder


• Die Batterie ist defekt. Ersetzen Sie die Batterie.• Unzureichende Spannungs- oder Stromversor-

gung. Überprüfen Sie den Zustand von Bord-steckdose und 12 V Kfz-Stecker und reinigenSie diese gegebenenfalls.

Keine Ausgangsleistung


• Der Spannungswandler ist nicht vollständig auf-gewärmt. Schalten Sie den Spannungswandlerein und wieder aus, bis das an den Spannungs-wandler angeschlossene Gerät mit Strom ver-sorgt wird. Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang, um das Gerät einschalten zu können.

• Die Zündung muss eingeschaltet sein, damit dieBordsteckdose mit Strom versorgt wird. SchaltenSie die Zündung ein bzw. in die Position I.

• Der Spannungswandler ist überlastet. VerringernSie die Last, bis sie die in den technischen Datenangegebene maximale Belastung nicht mehrüberschreitet.

• Der Spannungswandler ist überhitzt. Warten Sie,bis sich das Gerät abgekühlt hat. Sorgen Sie fürausreichenden Belüftungsabstand. Achten Siedarauf, dass die angeschlossene Last nicht dau-erhaft die maximale Belastung überschreitet, um ein erneutes Überhitzen zu vermeiden.

• Die Gerätesicherung ist durchgebrannt. WendenSie sich an den Service, um das Gerät wieder inStand setzen zu lassen. Vergewissern Sie sich,dass der Spannungswandler mit der richtigen Po-larität an die Stromversorgung angeschlossen ist.

• Die Kabelsicherung ist durchgebrannt. TauschenSie die Kabelsicherung aus, wie im Kapitel „Aus-tauschen der Kabelsicherung“ beschrieben. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Spannungs-wandler mit der richtigen Polarität an die Stromversorgung angeschlossen ist.

Reinigung

Lebensgefahr durch elektrischenSchlag:• Tauchen Sie die Geräteteile niemals in

Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten!

• Lassen Sie keine Flüssigkeiten in das Gehäuse dringen.

• Ziehen Sie vor jeder Reinigung den Span-nungswandler aus der Kfz-Steckdose/ entfernen Sie die Anschlussklemmen von derAutobatterie. Entfernen Sie auch ein an denSpannungswandler angeschlossenes Gerät.

Reinigen des GehäusesReinigen Sie die Gehäuseoberfläche mit einemleicht angefeuchteten Tuch. Verwenden Sie niemalsBenzin, Lösungsmittel oder Reiniger, da diese dieOberfläche des Geräts angreifen können!Falls die Lüftungsschlitze verstaubt sein sollten, reinigen Sie diese mit einem weichen Pinsel.

Entsorgung

Gerät entsorgenWerfen Sie das Gerät keinesfalls in den normalen Hausmüll. Dieses Produktunterliegt der europäischen Richtlinie2002/96/EC.

Entsorgen Sie das Gerät über einen zugelassenenEntsorgungsbetrieb oder über Ihre kommunale Entsorgungseinrichtung. Beachten Sie die aktuellgeltenden Vorschriften. Setzen Sie sich im Zweifelsfallmit Ihrer Entsorgungseinrichtung in Verbindung.
