MAJOR PROBLEMS OF MODERN HEALTH CARE
Emergency Departments (E.D.) are overcrowded with non-urgent cases, thus neglecting real emergencies
• Waste of funds in unnecessary procedures
• Difficulty in monitoring patients with mobility problems
• Lack of specialized personnel

INNOVATIVE DESIGN AND MATERIALS
• Flexible Screen Technology
• Graphene based materials
• Wireless Technology
• Global Positioning System
• 4G mobile technology (for off-site mode)
04/10/2023 5
BASIC FUNCTIONS
• Continuously monitoring patients’ life signs
• Performing non invasive medical examinations (heart rate, pressure, temperature, O2, glucose levels in the blood, etc.) using sensors.
• Blood tests (if needed)
• Communication with Hospital’s Computer Server
• Tracking the location of each patient at any time using Global Positioning System

SERVER COMMUNICATION
i-MED will be equipped with its own communication protocol which includes:
• Asymmetric cryptography, for safe and lossless data exchange, limiting possible interference
• Packet-based communication, thus creating a “solid” and organized structure
• Packet handling, to provide insurance for zero loss of data
• Server-based unique identification database, which will store the cryptographic key pairs
• Predetermined short-codes for most requests, making communication speedy and more practical

SPECIAL ILLUMINATION
04/10/2023 8
Depending on the severity of the case, i-MED will be illuminated taking a specific color:
• Green, if patient’s health is well or relatively well and his symptoms are negligible, or can be treated at a later time
• Yellow, if the patient needs to be examined but immediate medical attention is not necessary
• Red, if patient’s life is in jeopardy
GPS AND WI-FI FUNCTIONALITY
The inbound GPS module provides location data for medical personnel:
• Cartesian coordinates of the i-MED device are sent on-demand using the default protocol
• In case of emergency, location data is transmitted, along with other data
• Additional measurements can be made (altitude, accurate clock, velocity)
• Discrete monitoring of patients’ lifestyle, if needed (e.g. alcohol/drug addicts )

MODES
• ED Mode• Pre-screening of patients in the ED
• Performs non-invasive measurements
• Performs blood tests (if needed)
• Regular Mode• For hospitalized patients
• Provides accurate and continuous monitoring of the patient’s health
• Tracks each patient’s location inside the Hospital’s perimeter
• Off-Site Mode• For non-hospitalized patients with life-threatening conditions
• Continuously monitors patient’s life signs and tracks his/hers location
• In case of an emergency a special unit will be directed to the patient’s location

ED MODE IN DETAIL
• An i-MED device will be assigned to each patient upon arrival at the E.D.
• i-MED performs non-invasive measurements and (possibly) takes blood samples for further examinations
• Combines the results of all measurements to evaluate the case of the patient and illuminates as red, yellow or green
• Gives priority to patients with severe conditions (red light) and diverts non critical cases (green light) to a later date (setting an appointment with the appropriate physician)
04/10/2023 11
REGULAR MODE IN DETAIL
• Suitable for patients in scheduled hospitalization
• Continuously monitors patients’ health
• Continuously tracks their location in hospital campus
• Monitors the effectiveness of each medication and keeps statistics of the side-effects
• Alerts the personnel in case of an emergency04/10/2023 12
OFF-SITE MODE IN DETAIL
• Real-time communication with dedicated servers
• Periodic biometric/location sampling and transmission
• Unique customization for patients’ individual needs
• Instant access from medical professionals using a safe cryptographic protocol
• Sophisticated alarm-response mechanism for critical emergencies
