I have been teaching in many different settings since 1990. I graduated from Geneva College in 1990 with a B.S. In Music Education, where my focus was vocal music and my minor was piano. I also have Masters degree credits from the University of CT. I taught high school and middle school chorus for seven years in Coventry, CT before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom. Since that time I have kept myself busy in the music world by giving private piano and voice lessons, directing an occasional choir as well as performing in one, accompanying school and community choirs, teaching group lessons at Evola Music, subbing an occasional music class, and singing and playing piano on my church worship team. Please be on time for lessons! I have a tight schedule, and if you are more than five minutes late I cannot make up the time. Parents please pick your child up on time! If the lesson ends at 4:30, please pick him/her up at 4:30. One parent or guardian is welcome to stay for the lesson. you may either sit in the piano room or you may sit in my front living room if you prefer. If you have multiple children taking lessons, you must stay and supervise them while a sibling is taking their lesson. Welcome New Student NEW STUDENT About Me Thank you for choosing me as your piano teacher. I hope that this is just the beginning of a wonderful time of learning together. I look forward to our time together. Policies

🎹 Please be on time for lessons! I have a tight schedule, and if you are more than five minutes late I cannot make up the time.

Parents please pick your child up on time! If the lesson ends 🎹

at 4:30, please pick him/her up at 4:30. One parent or guardian is welcome to stay for the lesson. you 🎹

may either sit in the piano room or you may sit in my front living room if you prefer. If you have multiple children taking lessons, you must stay and supervise them while a sibling is taking their lesson.

For health reasons I ask that you please remove shoes and 🎹

wear socks in my home. If you forget to bring some, I keep clean socks in a basket by the door. Help yourself, just please return them to me at the end of the lesson. Do not put them back in the basket!

🎹 No eating, drinking or smoking while in my home or on my property.

🎹 Please bring all books currently being worked on to each lesson, as well as your notebook. If you forget a book or books I will try to work with books I may have available. If I do not have anything that I can use, I will ask you to reschedule. If that is not an option, you will be charge for the lesson.

Your notebook is my main means of communication with you. 🎹

Please read through each week’s assignment carefully and record the time you practice. Middle school age and younger please have your parent sign each week so that I know they know what you're working on. This saves problems in the future. Also, I use this as a place to write down weeks I will be gone, change of lesson time, and what you will owe for the following month.

Missed lessons must be scheduled ahead, except for sudden 🎹

illnesses. Please call me to inform me that you will be missing a lesson. Do not depend on your child to tell me! Otherwise, you will be expected to pay for that lesson. You may reschedule as time allows.

🎹 Payment in full is expected at the first lesson of the month. Please have check or cash ready at the beginning of the lesson. This saves time and makes things easier for the both of us. If one of us must miss a lesson after payment has been made I will credit you for the next month's lesson. If you decide to terminate lessons for any reason before the end of the month I cannot give you a refund.

Parents please spend time working with your child each week. 🎹

Younger children may need you to sit down with them to keep them on task. All parents are responsible to see that their child practices the agreed-upon time each week and that things such as flashcards and workbook/theory work is done. The more you put into this the more you and your child will get out of it.

Books, flashcards, metronomes, etc. will not be given out until 🎹

full payment is made for the item. There are usually two recitals held each year at Evola Music in 🎹

Canton. All students are expected to participate unless other arrangements are made. (Such as students who do not participate due to religious reasons)
