Being good isn’t good enough.

God’s justice towards us is
affected by our choice to follow
Him or not.3
1. As long as I am a good person, I will go to Heaven.
2. God loves everyone, He will not let anyone go to Hell.
3. I believe in God.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by

from thistles?

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad
tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits
you will know them.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,”
and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ
depart from iniquity.”

If you try to attain salvation by disciplines, you will be trying to
discipline an unsurrenderedself. You will be sitting on a lid.
The result will be tenseness instead of trust. “You will wrestle instead of nestle.”

E. Stanley Jones
While salvation cannot be attained by discipline around an
unsurrendered self, nevertheless when the self is surrendered to
Christ and a new center formed, then you can discipline your life around that new center – Christ.
Discipline is the fruit of the conversion – not the root.
