Guernsey is a place like no other and for that reason we know that the people who live here are best placed to know how we can evolve and adapt to make it the best it can be. We want to use this competition as your voice and we hope that the ideas generated by this competition will form part of the planning for the future of Guernsey.

You could almost envisage that Guernsey was designed. Our perfect triangle with its coastal beaches, cliffs and harbours inspire many of us to ponder how we can contribute to the future of our island. Guernsey, like its geography, is multi-faceted; full of a wealth of ideas across the spectrum from the environment to housing and architecture, from health to education, from our green spaces to transport, from protecting nature to the sea that surrounds us… the possibilities are endless.

You don’t have to be a designer or work in a creative industry to enter. I am Guernsey is open to anyone with a fantastic concept. There are no rules when it comes to what you can enter - just the breadth of your imagination. This is about anything you think would enhance island life. I am Guernsey is more than a concept. We hope that the ideas generated in this competition will form part of planning for the future for Guernsey.

Over the course of the competition we will feature design ideas from around the world that have made an impact or an improvement through our Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages. The aim here is to fire your imaginations and not constrain you or influence your choice of concept.

So often exceptional ideas lead to more exceptional ideas and we’d like to show you some to demonstrate the vast breadth and depth of the world’s talent for making our planet a better place to live.

I am Guernsey is open to two age groups: under 18 years old and over 18 years old.

Anyone with an idea is eligible to enter.

All entries need to be submitted digitally.

The competition closes on Friday, 10 October 2014.

Entries need to be submitted to iamguernsey@gmail.com

The two winners will be announced on Friday October 17th 2014.

A panel of judges will include representatives from both Livingroom and PF+A.
