During Nic Gray’s time in Iraq (2006-2007), he was in charge of tracking both enemy and NATO force movements. He
envisioned the ability for troops to carry with them PDA’s that would afford them a line of digital communication to
know in real-time past, current, and forecasted threats of their immediate surroundings based on sniper fire, IED’s,
VBIED’s, ambushes, and mortar fire.
When Nic came across Damon Baker, it was explained to him that he [Damon] was working on developing
hyper-location technology after being inspired by the movie Minority Report. Nic immediately understood his
vision—soon after a partnership was born to make the physical world searchable down to the object level.
