Litter PickSat 8th Dec
The Lane
• It’s a place frequented by a lot of our school pupils, its where they “hang around”
• But it turned into a massive rubbish bin…
Around Our Community
• A lot of our friends, family & neighbours live in surrounding area.
• They are being affected by the amount of rubbish that gets thrown on their streets.
Time For Change• The Eco-Committee led a Litter
Pick Up last Dec 8th.
• It was well attended by pupils, staff, parents and councillors who braved the bitter cold winters morning (and on a Saturday!)
•Here’s what we had to pick up…….
Rubbish• There are several bins in and around our
community and school.
• There should be no excuse to drop litter.
• If the bin is full, walk to the next one, its probably only 5 meters away.
• OR keep your rubbish until you do find a bin.
Be Proud
• This is your community.
• You should take pride in it.
• Do your best to keep it clean.
• Don’t drop litter, put it in the bin!
Final thought…• If the litter problems do not continue to
improve in and around our school, there will be no option other than to bring in the litter enforcers…
• If you drop litter, they can fine you £50 and/or give you community service…
• So…just bin it…we are not going to clean up after you…
Join the Eco group• Improve our school and local environment by;
– Tackling problems with litter– Designing a ‘quiet area’ within the school grounds
with planters, benches etc.– Promoting recycling by managing blue bins in all
departments.– Developing ways to save energy and therefore money
which could be used for greater resources in our classrooms.
– Being involved in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
