Description

HRCs are used to activateand control directionalvalves from a remote andsingle operating station.

HRCs come in hand, footand mechanically operatedversions, and on vehicles,are typically installed inseat armrests or in a con-sole.Operation

The 50 design HRCs oper-ate on input flows up to 20L/min (5.3 USgpm) andpressures up to 100 bar(1450 psi). From the inputpressure, an HRC createsreduced output pressuresthat vary proportionally withlever or pedal stroke. Byapplying the pressures tomain directional controlvalves speed and directionof hydraulic actuators canbe precisely metered.

Supply flow from adedicated pump

There are various methodsof supplying the flow to theHydraulic Remote Control.The most common andgenerally recommended isa separate pump. In allapplications, filtrations of10mm nominal (25mmabsolute) is recommendedon the supply flow to theHRC. Fluctuation of supplypump pressure will notgenerally cause the HRCoutput pressure to vary.

Single-station control ofwidely placed directionalvalves is readily achieved.For example, in a vehicle,an HRC is easily mount-able in the cab (or else-where) because it’s com-pact, and eliminates thecumbersome mechanicallinkage found in manyapplications.

• A safer, cleaner operat-ing environment.

Designing an ergonomicworkstation is easilyachieved by leveragingbenefits inherent in asystem designed withHRCs. The benefitsinclude lowering noiselevels, system oil temper-ature and the removal offire hazards for the work-station.

• Optimum piping, quiet-ness and heat dissipa-tion.

HRCs allow main-stagedirectional valves to bemounted anywherethereby allowing design-ers to optimize criticalsystem parameters.

• A wide range of outputpressure characteristics.

HRCs can be perfectlymatched to the main-stage valve.

• Less noise.

The use of an HRCallows better insulationbetween the cab andengine because there isno longer a need of holesthrough the cab wall forlinkage to the main valve.Plus low hysteresis pro-vides superior control ofthe actuator, whichreduces vehicle shockand subsequent noise.

• Enhanced operatorsafety.

The HRC needs only arelatively low workingpressure, about 30 bar(435 psi). This lessensthe risk to the operator ina situation of pipe failure.

How to Use STC

STC Assembly Action

Male connector is insertedinto the female connector.The male shoulder spreadsthe latch ring open.

Latch ring is in its openposition which allows themale shoulder to slide pastthe latch ring.

Male and female are lockedinto place. As fluid pressureis applied, the latch ring iswedged between the maleshoulder and the femaleangle.

Note

Always remember to verifythat your STC connectionhas been made successful-ly by pulling the connection.

As the STC tool is insertedbehind the release sleeve,the steel insert pushes thelatching ring forward into agroove in the female halfI.D., thus allowing the twohalves to be pulled apart.The thickness of the toolmoves the sleeve forwardfar enough to disconnect,so prying sideways with thetool is unnecessary.

The “P” series is a single-function, dual pedal valvetypically used to control asingle double-acting spool.One foot pedal moves thespool in one direction andthe other foot pedal revers-es the direction of thespool travel.

As with all HRC models,this valve operates on thepressure reducing concept,using a constant inlet pres-sure, and providing a vari-able outlet pressure as adirect result of the actuat-ing mechanism.

HRC2-S Series

The “S” series is a single-function valve that may befitted with many differentstyles of hand operatedlevers. This unit may beused as a single valve orassembled into a bank ofHRC2-S valves where morethan one valve spool needsto be controlled. The valve’sdesign allows a singlepump supply and tankreturn line to be used in abank of valves, and may beconnected at either end ofthe assembly. The valvesmay be assembled intobanks of up to 10.

Many optional features areavailable for this productseries, such as:

• Three-position MechanicalDetent – allowing thecontrol actuator to be heldin the neutral and fullyshifted positions.

• STC direct port availability.

• A Frictional Lock Device -to allow continuous hold-ing of the control actua-tor at every position ofthe stroke.

• A Pull-to-release SafetyDevice – to ensure actua-tor is not accidentallyoperated. Lever may onlybe operated after liftingthe security collar on theactuating lever.

HRC4-J Series

The “J” series is a doublefunction valve that may befitted with many differentstyles of hand-operatedlevers. This unit is typicallyused to control two doubleacting spools using a singlejoystick-style actuator. Thisprovides a single-handed,highly facile device to con-trol two separate actuators.

Features

Many optional features areavailable for this productseries, such as:

• Progressive or ergonomichandles with or withoutelectrical switches.

• New ergonomic handlepackage is a very user-friendly and stylish han-dle fitted with a squaregaiter that covers theentire mounting flange.

• A maximum of sevenelectrical switches maybe fitted to the ergonom-ic style handle in variousconfigurations, for a mul-titude of machine func-tions.

• STC direct port availability.

• All actuators with electri-cal switches carry a mini-mum IP44 environmentalprotection rating.*
