    Under the &'th (alaysia )lan, the (alaysian government is encouraging theestablishment of new higher education institutions, including foreign branchcampuses. *eriot-+att University, having responded to a bid process initiated andmanaged by )utra%aya *oldings, was selected as the preferred university partner toestablish a branch campus in )utra%aya, (alaysia the administrative capital city.

    $he pro%ect to launch the development of *eriot-+att University (alaysia *+U(was announced to the public in /ovember 0'&&. $he University started delivery ofdegree programmes in initial accommodation in )utra%aya in 1anuary 0'&2, ahead ofopening a purpose-built campus in 0'&3.

    *eriot-+att University (alaysia dn 4hd *+U( is now fully licensed by the(inistry of *igher 5ducation. $he vision for *+U( is that it will be a flagshipuniversity campus providing access to high 6uality UK higher education with a focuson delivering professionally-relevant courses and research and knowledgeexchange. $he University will have a strong (alaysian focus and will strive toprovide relevant programmes and research initiatives which support the (alaysian7overnment targets for growth and reform. $he pro%ect to create this new campushas been officially recognised by the (alaysian 7overnment as an 5ntry )oint)ro%ect contributing to the country8s 5conomic $ransformation )rogramme. $heUniversity will attract staff and students locally as well as from a broad internationalbase and will be a centre of excellence for learning, providing students withopportunities to access a wide range of existing *+U programmes.

    $he Fo0n7ation programme is a programme of study to prepare school leavers forundergraduate degree programmes. $he foundation programme is designed todevelop the students8 sub%ect knowledge and skills including writing skills, academic5nglish, and assessment and examination techni6ues.

    It is planned that there will be foundation streams for engineering, business,computer science, and design with other streams being developed as new degreeprogrammes are launched.

    *eriot-+att University (alaysia is seeking to recruit enthusiastic academics withexperience of teaching at the 9oundation )rogramme level. uccessful candidateswill also be expected to develop strong links to colleagues at the cottishcampuses to deliver high 6uality learning and teaching, to contribute to thecontinued development of the programmes offered to students. Academic staffmay also contribute to degree programmes in a variety of chools.

    )ostholders will be expected to have a broad knowledge of a range of topicswithin the sphere of their chosen discipline.

    $he role will be based at the University8s campus in )utra%aya, the administrativecapital of (alaysia. )rogrammes will be delivered in 5nglish and so fluency in5nglish is essential. An induction programme will be delivered to all newacademic staff on *eriot-+att8s standards and values, and to give practicalexperience on preparation, delivery and assessment of teaching.

    &. Undertake teaching and assessment duties on academic programmes, inparticular the 9oundation programmes. upport colleagues in other choolsat *eriot-+att University (alaysia in the delivery of courses and otheractivities to support the delivery of *+U(8s aims.
