I would just like to congratulate all of the girls for their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom. Making the decision to play high school athletics is one of the best ones our kids can make. Being involved in athletics teaches many valuable lessons that students may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. Mak-ing the commitment to a team means serving some-thing bigger than the individual. The friendships and bonds that are formed will be lifelong. You have made your school and community proud. Have a fantastic season and have fun! A special thank you goes out to all those individuals who support the program.

Running a quality high school athletic program takes dedication and commitment from a number of people. Without you this would not be possible. Go Oilers!

The 2013’s Girls Volleyball season has been so successful to date. We are excited to com-pete for a league championship in the Sunset League with a great group of dedicated play-ers and amazing coaching staff. The girls have worked extremely hard this season under the guidance of Coach Pazanti and his staff. A highlight for the season has to be the trip to Hawai’i in August as the girls really jelled and became great teammates, together. That trust has carried them into the season with great performances in tournaments and games. They are a joy to watch! Currently serving as head coach for both the boys and girls teams, Coach Pazanti is a HBHS Alumni and teaches science at the alma mater. Coach Pazanti was named OC Register Volleyball Coach of the Year in 1999, CIF Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2001 and California State Volleyball Coach of the Year 2003. While at Mater Dei High, Coach Pazanti guided the the girls team to 3 consecutive CIF Championships in 2001,2002 and 2003.

He guided HBHS to a CIF final appearance in 2009 and into the quarter finals in 2010. Has a 172-90 record while at the school with many student athletes playing at the next level.
