Everyone at Hunter Charolais would like to welcome you to ourFourth Annual Bull Sale! As we sat down to write this welcome, wereflected how the cattle industry has changed in the last year.Record prices were seen everywhere throughout the country andthe optimism is contagious in our industry. It is time all of us arepaid for our years of hard work and perseverance, it is longoverdue and we are all more than deserving of good times. Rightnow more than ever, it is time to be investing in your cow herd andfuture calf crops. The North American cow herd is at one of its alltime lows, creating an under supply of calves. We believe with thisin mind good times are ahead of us. The Charcross calves havecontinued to top markets across Canada. These have never been inhigher demand and will continue to be in high demand for yearsto come.

We are extremely proud to offer 41 yearlings and 5 two year oldsfor the sale this year. These bulls were grown out with longevity

and functionality in mind on a high forage TMR diet. We worked with the professional service of CDI Consulting on our bull’s rations this year.

We feel that our bulls speak for themselves. The quality is deep throughout the entire catalogue and we know there is a bull to suit everyone’sspecific needs.

We stand behind our bulls one hundred percent and believe highly in customersatisfaction and service if ever a problem should arise.

Cameron Isaac – Doug’s right hand man. This is his fifth winter working for us parttime; we can’t express our gratitude enough for all the help he provides around the

cattle — from feeding and calving to helping with the bulls.

This is the 4th Annual sale for the Hunter family and every year the consistency of the pen gets better. This totalfamily operation has been developing this program for over 30 years. The numbers have increased in the cowherdas has the quality. By buying top end females and herdbulls, they have strived to produce a product that will workfor you whether you are a purebred breeder or a commercial cow/calf producer. Last fall the females they sold inthree different sales were at the top of the sale orders and sold very well across Canada showing the acceptance ofthe program to other breeders. Their show string at the Manitoba Livestock Expo and Canadian Western Agribitionwere appreciated by all who looked at the cattle. Hunters are committed to agriculture and the cattle business and

will work with you to make sure you’re happy with the genetics you are buying.

HEALTH STATUSBulls are done as calves with Pfizer Gold—BoviGold 5FP, One Shot,Ultrabac/Somnugen before going to pasture.They were boostered in the fall with the same vaccines and reboostered thisspring with BoviGold 5FP, and Ultrachoice 8. They have also been given anendectocide twice since last fall.The bulls have also been vaccinated against footrot with Fusogard. They havebeen done twice this spring but do require a booster before breeding season(especially if they are not used until later in the year.)

We purchased the Pick of the Herd Flush from Clear Lake Charolais out of the Alberta Charolais Select Sale in 2011 and there was nodoubt in our mind which cow we wanted to flush. The Rolling Acres Lizzie cow has been making waves in the Charolais business foryears since she was high selling female at the National sale, in Regina, 2009. She is phenotypically flawless and the track record ofher progeny is impressive to say the least. We absolutely love the way Ultimate and Lizziehave crossed. These bulls are easy fleshing, soft made individuals that have an abundanceof hair, thickness and an impressive hip.

Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. Allsettlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will notpass until final payment is made. Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bidsand instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received insufficient time prior to the sale. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. if no further bid is made, the buyer willbe the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final. Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matterin the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared forat the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. Acertificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shippingarrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at thebuyer’s risk. Breeder guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder afterbeing used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six

months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. Theseller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semencollected from the bull will freeze. Exception guarantee: in case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductivetechniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damagecaused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. in no eventshall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither thesale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise,in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer andseller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for thetruth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied.
