PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS The program consists of 79 hours of required courses and 12 hours of electives: • IntroductIon to Human resource management: 4 hours (online or classroom) Key functions of HR, new trends and challenges in the field, and an overview of the certificate program. • recruItment and employment: 15 hours (online) State and federal employment laws, the recruitment process, and other key pre-employment and post- termination issues. • performance management systems: 15 hours (classroom) Critical management functions, including operational control, planning, and decisions related to compensation and employment. • managIng traInIng and development: 15 hours (classroom) The role and contribution of training and development and key issues from needs assessment through evaluation. • personnel law: 15 hours (classroom) Laws and regulations affecting personnel policy and specific operational approaches to assure compliance. • compensatIon concepts: 15 hours (online) Current compensation issues and the design and implementation of cost-efficient and effective compensation programs.
