Project Objective
To strengthen and enhance the existing regulatory
capabilities of PNRA to discharge its
responsibilities regarding the licensing of
Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-2 and future NPPs.
Fifty (55) professionals employed and comprises
of two Sections namely:
1. Safety Review and Assessment Section,
2. Safety Analysis Section

The main objectives of SNRS are:
o Identify the training requirement of PNRA Officers/Staff
o Develop and implement training and retraining program
for PNRA employees
o Design and develop training courses for licensees
o Public awareness program
The school is furnished with:
o State of the art class rooms
o Established laboratories such as Soft Panel Training
Simulator, Physical Models Of Nuclear Power
Equipment, NDT

Capacity Building - National Resources
To strengthen the nuclear safety regime in
Pakistan, available national resources are utilized for
development of PNRA workforce to enable them to
effectively discharge their regulatory responsibilities
Following national resources are currently utilized:
o Facilities available with PAEC
PIEAS, KINPOE, CHASCENT, IPTC, NCNDT, PWI, etc.
o Collaboration with local universities and other
institutions

o HMC-3 – Equipment manufacturing for SC-2 & 3
o Expansion of licensing net of radiation facilities
