A. Definitions:
• Leonard Nadler 1970 “Developing Human Resources” in which he coined the term ‘human resource development’ (HRD).
• Human resource refers to the talents and energies of people that are available to an organization as potential contributors to the creation and realization of the orga nization’s mission, vision, values, and goals.
Definitions• Development refers to a process of active
learning from experience-leading to systematic and purposeful development of the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.
• HRD is the integrated use of training, organizational and career development efforts to improve individual, group, and organizational effectiveness.

resource development is a series of organised activities, conducted within a specialised time and designed to produce behavioural changes.“

theory is a framework for the expansion of human capital within an organization through the development of both the organization and the individual to achieve performance improvement.

• Adam Smith states, "The capacities of individuals depended on their access to education. " The same statement applies to organizations themselves, but it requires a much broader field to cover both areas.

more competent. HRD develops new skill, knowledge and attitude of the people in the concern organizations.
• With an appropriate HRD program, people become more committed to their jobs. People are assessed on the basis of their performance by having a acceptable performance appraisal system.
Benefits of HRD• An environment of trust and respect can be
created with the help of human resource development.
• Acceptability toward change can be created with the help of HRD. Employees found themselves better equipped with problem-solving capabilities.
